AUTHOR NOTE: Re-upload because I had deleted it but I found it again, so. Enjoy the little fluff-fest. :)

No spoilers. Set any time between season 4 and the beginning of season 6, I suppose. Song is "Crazy Love" as sung by Jason Manns and the wonderful Jensen Ackles himself. xD

"I can feel her heartbeat from a thousand miles."

Cas heard Dean singing in the privacy of his motel room. Sam had gone out, Cas reasoned. He knew the hunter would never genuinely sing in front of anybody if he could help it. But he couldn't stop Cas from standing invisibly across from him. The angel watched, arms at his side as he leaned against the wall beside the bed Dean was sitting on.

"And the heavens open, every time she smiles."

A pause.

Cas tilted his head, waiting, the small smile of adoration never leaving his face.

"I'm running to him that's where I belong. I'm running to him like a river's song," Dean continued, prompting Castiel to tilt his head, squinting at the change of pronouns. The angel was indifferent to sexual orientation, but he hadn't thought Dean was gay. "He give me love, love, love, love, crazy love. He give me love, love… love…"

When Cas noticed that the hunter had stopped singing, he made himself visible. "Why did you stop, Dean?" he asked as the startled Winchester jumped to his feet, inches away from the angel.

"Damn it, Cas. What the hell?!" he shouted. Suddenly his annoyed expression became one of panic. "Wait, how long have you been there?" he demanded to know, his skin growing paler by the second.

Cas looked away like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. "Since you started singing," he mumbled.

"What?" Dean said angrily, clearly annoyed that the angel spied on him. Cas looked up, his eyes narrowed as he thinned his lips, and Dean prepared himself for the angel to launch into no-bullshit mode.

"I was listening to you sing, Dean. You have a beautiful voice, when you're not 'goofing off', as they say. Why did you stop?" he asked, then paused before adding, "And... Why did you change pronouns halfway through?"

Dean looked like a deer in headlights. Shit. Shit shit shit, he panicked as he turned away from the angel. "Never mind, Cas. Let it go."

"Dean-"

"Drop it!" the hunter shouted. "Don't worry about it. It's got nothing to do with you," he lied.

Cas saw right through that one.

"Dean, don't lie to an angel of the Lord," he warned.

Seeing that he couldn't avoid this conversation, and part of him really wanted to see how it'd play out, Dean bit his lip as he turned back to Castiel. "I changed the pronouns 'cause I was thinking of you," he admitted, spitting out the sentence as quickly as he could. After seeing the angel's unmoving expression, Dean sighed. "And I stopped because I realized how much I liked it that way... That it..." he stopped, sucking in a breath before continuing with clenched fists. "It made sense. It felt right." He laughed in an effort to keep it light, but it fooled neither of them as it came out sounding nervous. "I like you, Cas," he admitted, looking the angel in the eyes. "And I just came to this realization a few minutes ago, so excuse me if I stop singing so I can process that," he said defensively.

Cas remained expressionless for a few moments before breaking into the biggest smile Dean had ever seen grace the angel's face. The hunter sucked in a breath as Cas opened his mouth to speak. "I like you, too, Dean."

Dean frowned at him, skeptical. "I mean, I like like you. As in, I think I even want to do things with you. Like, gay things," Dean said. Even as he spoke he found himself thinking, What the hell am I doing? Why am I telling him this? He'll smite me!

Castiel laughed lightly as he took a step closer to the hunter. "I know, Dean. It's o-"

And suddenly there were lips on lips, hands in hair, and then Dean and Castiel made some music of their own.
