After the incident with Poe's notebook and pen her parents knew what kind of life she led. To a point. She wasn't allowed to tell them anything more but they still had their memories of what had happened. Myka was glad of it though. It let them know a little bit more of what was going on in her life and she was given a second chance with her father. It had been a horrible experience but it had been a good thing. Every once in a while though it was hard to remember that. Myka clicked her phone shut and made a vain attempt to scrub out the headache her father had given her. She knew he loved her and worried but she preferred not to be told about how much he worried about her every time she talked to him. Lately he has been trying to convince her to get her old job back. Even though it was still secret service he had deemed that safer somehow which, Myka admitted, it probably was. She just couldn't bring herself to leave what she had built here. There was no way to explain this to her father in a way he would understand but she was part of something here. These people were in her life now and she considered them to be family just as much as her parents. She smiled as she walked back through the stark white tunnel and into the office. She stood there a minute taking the time to take it all in and enjoy it. Artie and Claudia were bickering as usual over something on the computer. Myka wasn't even going to try and comprehend the strange lines of code Claudia was quickly typing out. Trailer was curled up under the table fast asleep and snoring with his left ear twitching slightly. Leena and Mrs Frederick weren't there but Myka smiled crossing her arms knowing their weird pieced together family wouldn't be complete without them either. She watched as her partner came bounding through the door coming from the main part of the warehouse. He ran up and threw his arms around her spinning so she was in front of him. He flipped her around and held her between him and the door. Not three seconds later Steve came running in at a full sprint behind him his skin a strange shade of green. She laughed, oh yeah this was home all right.
