A/n- I don't own anything you recognize.

Do you struggle to just pretend it doesn't kill you inside? That those glances you receive in the hallways didn't shatter your already broken heart. They knew you were hurting. But you faked a smile and pretended it didn't hurt. After all, you were a Slytherin and pretending came naturally to you.

You never felt more betrayed than you did when you walked in on your boyfriend and your cousin. You didn't know betrayal could hurt as badly as it did. Tears stung your caramel eyes as you finally got the answers you needed. Sure, you had your suspicions, but you had hoped it wasn't true. She had been your best friend growing up. You confided everything with her. So her sleeping with your boyfriend killed you on the inside.

You couldn't help but to think you weren't good enough anymore. Even though your heart had been completely in the relationship, you now knew his wasn't. He was using you to get closer to her. He never really loved you in the same way you loved him. He played you easily because you were naïve.

When you entered the Great Hall the next morning, you felt yourself crumble. Just seeing them holding hands and acting so in love broke down the walls you formed. It was how you acted when you first got together. But now you know he was always in love with someone else. You ate quickly, trying not to break down in the middle of breakfast.

At least she tries to apologize. But you're not in the mood for forgiveness and you doubt you'll ever be. "I love him," she says, as if it justifies anything. You want to tell her that you did too, but you bite your tongue. You were going to be the bigger person even if it killed you. And love always has a way of killing even the strongest people. So continue the struggle that rages within you and just pretend it doesn't hurt you as badly as it does.
