He looked around timidly…she wasn't there…he knew. Her scent was at least a couple of hours old and she could be anywhere by now. What's this? He sniffed the ground once again and detected a hint or Mirokou's scent. 'That baka,' he thought. 'He made away with her, and she didn't even tell me anything about it.'

"Good morning, priestess Kaede," said Sango, "what can I do for you?"
"It's Kagome," replied the priestess, "she has left the village without telling anyone. Worst of all, she seems to have taken Mirokou with her."
Sango stared in astonishment. "Did Inu Yasha go with them?"
"No, I am afraid not. He's out there in the forest searching for the two right now. Who knows what potential dangers the two could face; after all, Mirokou's hand is just now recovering from that number Sesshomaru pulled on him."
"Yes, I agree…Mirokou still hasn't fully recovered. Do you know the direction Inu Yasha went? I could go and try to help him find Kagome and Mirokou…"
"I'm sure your help to Inu Yasha will be fully appreciated. The sooner we find them the better… After all, Mirokou does have strong feelings of love toward Kagome, but I don't think anything like that is bound to happen between them any time soon."
"Okay, well I shall be off to go help this half-demon find his Kagome."
"Thank you," said Kaede after Sango trotted out of the hut, hurrying to catch up with Inu Yasha who was probably deep into the heart of the forest by now.

"You were right," said Kagome, "this is a good day for a picnic…thanks for bringing me out here, the view of the valley is beautiful!"
"I thought that you might like it here…I mean it was a long ways to walk, but since we started early this morning we got through the forest, and to where I planned to be in just a few hours."
"Well, now that we are here let's eat," Kagome said as she unpacked the wicker picnic basket that she had brought with her. The basket was filled with sandwiches of all types, peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese, cheese, and Kagome's favorite, turkey on wheat.
"I think I will have one of those," stated Mirokou as he leaned forward to grab a ham and cheese sandwich. "What are these?" he asked as he pointed towards a bag of Lays brand potato chips.
"Oh…" laughed Kagome, "these are potato chips that we had at my house so I brought them with me. They are thinly cut pieces of potato that have been fried. Sometimes they flavor the chips. Try them, they are good."
" Ok," said Mirokou, "I guess I can't say I don't like something until I try it." He picked up a chip and looked at it as if it were something foreign. Then, gently he set the chip in his mouth, and two crunches later, he grabbed the bag and yelled, "Mmmm… these are TOO good to share, sorry Kagome, but I am confiscating these from you."
She laughed and pulled out another bag. "It's ok, I brought two bags just in case something like this would happen."
Then, the two sprawled out in the sun on the red and white checkered blanket and looked up at the sky.
"At home," said Kagome. "we use to go on picnics all of the time. When we got done eating, we use to stare at the clouds to see what they looked like. One time I saw a cloud that looked like a cute, fluffy bunny. We had a lot of fun." Kagome sighed, remembering how much fun she use to have with her family.
"Well, if it was fun then why don't we try it?" asked Mirokou.
Kagome agreed with an "Okay," and they started to play the game that was supposed to be fun. Little did they know that trouble was lurking behind them on such a beautiful day.
