Just a short one-shot that came to mind while reading a completely different fic. Not beta'ed in anyway so all mistakes are my own.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

The fact he's blind doesn't normally factor into their relationship. He's more self-sufficient than most adults and she has to be careful of leaving her shoes lying around but it's not something they actively think about. But sometimes they do.

His hand finds hers with practiced ease as they leave the restaurant but he pauses for a moment. He's felt it coming but thought they had more time before the storm hit.

"Wait a minute," he holds her back, tugging her to his side. Annie maneuvers them to the side of the door and he can feel her questioning gaze. "Wait for it," he tells her, pointing upwards.

"What's going on?"

"Rain," he answers with a smile. He feels her shift next to him, leaning closer and he can feel wisps of her hair tickle his face.

"Weather said just clouds, no…" he can almost hear the skies open and the pressure drop as the first sheet of water hits the pavement just outside. "Rain," she finishes her sentence and he can't help but grin. "Shut up, August," she shoves him gently and he leans with the push before righting himself again. "It's pouring, we can't leave now," she almost sighs in defeat.

"Walker, it's rain," he replies. "You're not going to melt." Without a moment to protest he pulls her from the restaurant and into the downpour. It's a proverbial sheet of rain since he can't distinguish individual drops hitting his skin and there's a slight sting.

"Why'd you do that?" Annie asks, tugging on his arm towards the car but he stands his ground. He twists his grip until he's holding her wrist and pulls her close, wrapping an arm around her waist. The shirt she's wearing is soaked and he can feel the water pooling in his own shoes but he's not moving. She doesn't resist and wraps her arms around his neck. "What are you up to?" she whispers and he smiles, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.

"Have you ever been kissed in the rain?" he asks and he can feel the droplets flinging off her as she shakes her head and replies to the negative. "It's…different for me," he tells her. "It's another way of seeing you."

"How's that?" she whispers and he begins trailing his finger over her nose, down her lips, across her cheek. He's already familiar with the planes and angles of her body but the rain adds another element.

As he trails his fingers over her, his eyes close and he follows the droplets as they naturally roll down the arc of her cheeks and nose. It's a game of follow-the-leader except there's no loser and he feels her eyelids fluttering closed and her breathing speed up. He takes a step closer and rests his forehead against hers, his fingers trailing down her neck and shoulders and her arms fall from his neck but secure around his waist.

"You're beautiful," he whispers before kissing her rain-soaked lips. It's fire and water as the heat slowly builds within him and he can taste her in the rain drops rolling over her skin and joining their kiss and it's so much more. He knows the curves of her back and can feel the rain running beneath her blouse, stopping at his hand splayed against her and pooling to chill his hand. It's almost too much sensation but at the same time not nearly enough.

She doesn't care that he's blind. They're a team; she's his eyes and he's her guide. They work. But when it rains, it matters. They find themselves standing outside in drizzles, rainstorms, and downpours; his hands exploring her and sometimes she's exploring him: her eyes closed as she sees him for the first time. But it always ends the same way.

Kissing in the rain.

Hope you all enjoyed that! Reviews are welcomed but not really necessary. I'm just playing around.
