Snowy Day

It had been one of the Hogsmead weekends that was cold and miserable as the snow both coated the ground and drifted towards it but everyone left the castle anyway, simply to be able to leave the castle for a short time and see something else. She almost regretted leaving the castle, her warm common room with a fire that blazed merrily.

She and Alice had remained in the Three Broomsticks simply because of the warmth the place provided. They were reluctant to move despite the fact that they would have to soon as the sky was darkening. The bell jangled as the door was carelessly swung open, allowing a cold gust of wind to bring some snow into the cozy room.

One glance and she knew exactly who and what he was. The classic alpha male, the kind who had spurred evolution forward about five million years ago by nailing every female in sight. They charmed, seduced, and behaved like bastards, and yet women were biologically incapable of resisting their magic DNA.

She could not deny the attraction she felt towards the boy that was joking with his friends. Sirius Black, the Black sheep of the Black family. She had never had much contact with the other boy considering that she was in the year after him, she doubted he even knew she existed and perhaps she preferred it that way.

She knew of the boy's reputation: heartbreaker, playboy, jerk. She had seen some of the pranks they had pulled and often set up monitoring charms around the female bathrooms. In fact, she really did not know how she had managed to get through Hogwarts thus far without her breasts being shown around. She had been one of the lucky few who had always managed to get to the bathrooms either before the charms became active or after they had faded away. She would not have been noticed though, being one of the many girls in Hogwarts. A wallflower.

She saw Alice casting warming charms out of the corner of her eye. She had probably missed Alice's signal to start warming up before braving the cold outside. She quickly cast the same charms on herself with the practiced efficiency of the winter months. They stood together and started towards the door, passing the Marauders as they went.

Her eyes met Sirius' for a second, as she looked around before she left as she usually did. It was pure accident and only for a split second but that moment had left and impact on both of them. In that moment she knew that she had somehow managed to catch his attention and it would be very tiring and difficult to resist simply agreeing with to date him.

She knew she would be weak against all his charms especially if he chose to target her with it instead of letting it go as she hoped he would. She usually was for boys despite her mother's desperate attempts to make her able to resist swooning at every hot boy. She was a pureblood and was expected to have a lot more control than that. Alice usually stopped her from taking it too far and almost stalking some boys but Alice was now dating Frank and would not be able to watch her as closely as she had done in previous years.

She would have to be strong against this boy though, she did not want to be left with a broken heart. The tiny crush she had on said boy was not about to help matters much.

For now she could worry about the cold, those thoughts were best left for later.
