The Steps To Destiny 03/02/07

The dragon danced ferociously through the clouds, his scales shimmering like gems along his length. Black and red flashed into the gold as the glaring sunlight gleamed off the dragon's skin. A whiskered face, like a brave lion's, was the picture of royalty; refined, noble eyes were accompanied by a blunt nose, small laid-back ears, and expressful brows.

The long body was supported by a set of clawed toes, three on each foot; a solid, complete black like the creature had trudged through coals.

Now, he flitted and dipped in an intricate ballet of sorts, climbing to the heavens before spiraling downwards. Sparks flew from his nostrils, his roaring jaws, like an echo of the people born from him.

His shadow, cast black upon the ground, was not alone…it was accompanied by that of a great human figure, silhouette strong and tall against the sullen dirt path.

Prince Zuko put down his toy, leaving it where he'd been playing. Roaring, the little boy ran through the palace gardens with outspread arms…and for a second he is the dragon: the embodiment of fire.
