Please Don't Go

I wrote this a few years ago when I was watching a lot of GW, never got around to posting it on any sites though! Hope it's ok, let me know what you think!

He didn't mean to hurt her. He didn't want to hurt her. He just didn't know how to stay without hurting her even more. He just couldn't accept his feelings, or hers, without getting attached. And every time he had gotten attached in the past it had hurt someone. He didn't want to get hurt again. He couldn't stand losing the people he cared about again.

She was so pretty. Those long chestnut braids that fell down either side of her head framing her face really suited her. Even wearing that uniform all the time made her look beautiful. The green brought out her eyes. Her eyes were green.

He was fed up of fighting. Fighting this stupid war, fighting with her, fighting with himself… He always seemed to be fighting. Stupid onna's and their stupid emotions. Why couldn't they just take him for what he was? He didn't have any hidden side, any hidden emotions or repressed memories. He was just himself, no-one else. And he never pretended to be something he wasn't. He wished everything would be over so he would be able to just go home and go back to what he wanted to do which was mourn.

Nataku was never like this. She was strong. She never worried about her emotions. She just went ahead and said or did whatever she wanted. She never had to worry about not getting close because she could just not somehow. If she didn't want to get attached to someone or something she didn't, there was no difficulty. He wished sometimes that he had bothered to spend time with her. That he had worried less about her being a weak onna and just gotten to know her, learned from her, learned how she did what she did without worrying. She was a true warrior, even if she was a woman. But then… so was Sally…

He really did love her but he just didn't think he could stay without hurting her or himself or anyone else. He just didn't like getting attached…

'Bye Sally… he thought…

He finished packing up his things and pulling the cover over his mobile suit on the back of the huge wagon. He turned and took one last long look at the camp where Sally and the other renegades were hidden in the trees.

I'm sorry Sally, I have to go. Be safe. He thought sadly and turned to the cab of the wagon.

"Wufei!" called a voice "where do you think you are going? I thought you wanted to help us win the war? Why are you leaving? Please, please don't go! I… I… I love you Wufei, I don't want you to go… Please?" she trailed off looking embarrassed.

"I… I cant get attached, I hate getting attached because all the people I love are taken away from me. Please understand… I'm sorry Sally."

"Don't go…"

"I have to…" Wufei turned and got into the cab, starting up the engine and drowning out Sally's voice. She continued to call his name and plead with him not to go but he couldn't listen. He couldn't stay here, he couldn't get close, he just couldn't lose someone again. He left and never looked back…

THE END
