The light hit her face at the perfect angle, illuminating all her features, he couldn't help but stare. A few strands of her hair fell like cobwebs across her face, he fought the urge to brush them aside and look into her deep brown eyes. Maybe he was afraid that if stared her in the eyes too long he might drown in the depths of her soul.

She smiled at him innocently, and he almost melted away, why'd she have to be so cute? His icy blue eyes betrayed him and she saw him for a moment, the real him. The curtains were wide open now, she could see into him. He wanted to look away but there was no use pretending he hadn't been staring.

"Hey Elliot." She muttered.

"'Liv…"

She smiled at him; it wasn't fair, it was impossible to ignore her. He sighed, it was New Years, and he was probably drunk. And here's to another year wasted, another year where they couldn't be strong and courageous enough to admit that perhaps after all these years, they're just a little in love.

She got up and walked over towards him, smiling mischievously, he let a sloppy grin plaster his face. She knew what she was about to do, and finally she wasn't going to stop herself. She'd always been the braver of the two of them.
