Hello everyone! :D
This is, again, something done for a meme at LJ.
I was sincerely hoping someone would ask for something like this, so I'm happy I got to write it - I personally despise Sasuke with a passion so I really enjoyed writing this: he's the most vile person I've had the chance of reading about and this is, I believe, such a fit end for him I wish he'd underwent a similar destiny in the manga. :)
That said, if you feel you can stand your loved one meeting an untimely death, be my guest!
Disclamer: I own nothing but what I wrote.

Untimely Death
Madara had left two days prior, he had said something about having to retrive the 'third path' - not that he cared in the slightest - so Sasuke decided to venture out of his hideout and head towards Konoha: he wanted to see if what his ancestor had told him was really true—somehow he couldn't believe the village had been completely destroyed by someone else... he should have been the one obliterating it! Not some wannabe-God tricked into hating that village.
He knew he probably should still be resting after the operation, but he was more than confident enough of his strenght to be certain he could overcame any unwanted encounter on his way. He was sure it would take much more than a stray shinobi to cause him any harm, much less manage to kill him. He trusted his senses and his body far more than he ever trusted others—he had learned his lesson the hard way, and if any of his 'team mates' from Taka had thought they were essencial to him, they had well by now learned the lesson as well. He was just sorry he didn't dispose of Karin as he should have... surely his former companions had taken her back with them...
His companions. How funny, even after all the time they were separated, it still sounded kinda right.
Also what Naruto had said, it was right—he knew that will be the end, for the both of the—
"Ugh!" he was brought to the present by a sharp tingling at the back of his neck: something had pierced him. He could feel a sudden chilly sensation spreading through his body and realized he couldn't move anymore...
"So, who is it?" spoke a voice behind him, muffled by something akin to a mask—ANBU?
There was rustling as a second person rummaged through a pouch. "... It appears we got ourselves a rather juicy prey... Uchiha Sasuke."
"Oh really?" came the delighted voice of the first ninja. "That means we stumbled over a pair of powerful Sharingan eyes!" there was a pause as the enemy thought on how to procede. "How long will the paralysis last?"
"Long enough to take the eyes."
His eyes widened as sudden understanding flooded his brain—hunting nin!
"Good. Start on the operation immediately, then." was the cold order.
"NO! You can't do that!" he yelled, trying vainly to free himself from the paralysis but failing.
The masked shinobi sneered at him. "Oh yes we can. It's your fault for getting distracted that much. We're only doing our job."
The operation was painful - they hadn't bothered with anesthetic - and as much as he tried to withhold his cries, he couldn't... his sockets were on fire and his body thrashed despite the drug running in his system and he could smell both his own blood and the scent of burned flesh as his nerves were severed from his skull. By the end of it all, he was already on the verge of unconsciousness - his body longing to shy away from the searing pain in his now empty eye sockets - when he felt a weight on his chest and the cold edge of a very sharp kunai.
"Well, thank you for this gift, Uchiha-san." told him the masked ninja, fake gratefullness heavy in his tone. "Goodbye."
"NO! I CAN'T DIE HERE!... NARU—!" the kunai delved into his throat.
