Back Home

The war was over. Everyone went their own ways--some considered traveling the whole continent, some were separated, and some were branded husband and wife.

But Dorcas--he never became friends with anyone in the army.

Dorcas was a mysterious guy. He fought only for money; he fought only for his wife Natalie. Now that the war was over, it was time to come back to her. For years, Dorcas was away...and now he's coming back.

"Natalie..." Dorcas called, as he opened the door to their small, rural house in Bern. The wooden floor creaked as Dorcas entered the old home, the home where both he and Natalie's love flourished together. He looked at the surroundings and continued to walk--axe tied to a cloth wrapped around his waist, and holding a sack of gold coins in his left hand. The coins were his pay for the entire journey, given to him by Lord Eliwood himself.

"Thank you for your aid, Dorcas. You've done so much to help us and without you, we wouldn't have survived this war." Lord Eliwood said to the fighter, and then the young and handsome lord gave him a sack of gold coins--enough to earn a living and rebuild a new house for him and Natalie.

Dorcas could see the dust that was left all around his home. Yes, he was away for years--and Natalie couldn't handle any work by herself.

Dorcas remembered the time when he worked as a bandit just to make a living for his wife. He felt humiliated at the thought, but he remembered the time when Natalie scolded him for doing so.

"Dorcas, I know you're a loving husband and all…but, what you did is wrong…you shouldn't have affiliated yourself with bandits. I'm alright with your job right now, you shouldn't have done something so wrong…"

"Natalie…"

Dorcas crept into the bedroom, floor creaking as his foot took a step.

But Natalie was nowhere to be found.

Dorcas searched hard to find his dear wife, but found no one. Then, on the floor, he saw a note.

"If you want your wife back, then you would give us all your money. ~Ganelon Bandits"

End.

A/N: Lol. I just tried to do a serious fic, but it didn't end up too good. I'm not too good writing serious and tragic fics but I like reading them. All reviews are welcome, but these kind of fics are not my forte. ^_^
