To kill my Beloved
"Sad, isn't it?" L broke the silence.
"Huh?"
L looked up at Lights face. "It's almost time to say goodbye." This fact saddened Light. He knew it was true though. So did L. There was simply no stopping it.
L looked back on the floor, that was wet from the rain that had dripped off them both. His face has hidden behind his hair, but Light didn't need to see it. "Kira."
Five seconds silence. "You're right." L looked up. Heavy silence settled once again. Light was the one to break it this time. He took Ls head into his hands. "Why aren't you stopping this, L?" Ls arms wrapped around Light, into an embrace. Likely the last they would ever share.
He finally answered. "I'm satisfied." L was indeed satisfied. He had solved the Kira case. There was no way he would ever get a challenge like this again. He had found a friend, who later became his wonderful boyfriend. Indeed, he was satisfied. He would die young, not getting to experience all troubles he would face when he grew older. He was sad, though, that he could not get to enjoy more time with Light... That really was his only regret.
Light too was sad. He didn't want to lose L. He knew he would never find anyone else like him, not as rival, or lover. But L had to go. Light had known from the start. Even if he had to sacrifice his peace of mind, his soul, his loved ones... He had to make the world a better place as Kira.
L pulled a little back from the embrace, looking up at Light when he noticed the younger boy was crying. Sad glistening tears ran down in lines on the young boys pretty face, now twisted in mental pain.
"Why are you crying?" L whispered. Light leaned down to kiss L softly, one last time before he answered.
"L, within the next half hour, my heart is going to stop beating. When I, without a tear, watch you die, my beloved."
The end. We all know what happens from here.
I have personally no idea where this fanfic came from. It just popped up in my mind while I was trying to fall asleep.
Anyway I hope you liked it. I also really hope I managed to to make you feel a bit of their sadness, just a little.
