A young woman, yellow sparkly wings shimmering as she flew through the hallways of the royal palace opening doors and peering into rooms with her fierce emerald eyes trying to find where her little sister was. She finally spotted her looking up at the sky, her sister's golden locks being blown by the wind as she flew past a balcony that overlooked the ocean. Gliding down onto the balcony and resting her blue-gloved hands on her sister's shoulder and saying, "Annika, what are you doing out here? It's not safe."
Continuing to look up, her ten year old sister replied nervously, "The sky. It looks so…frightening."
Prodding Annika to turn around she looked into her sister's face, the wind blowing her light blue skirt of her fairy outfit. Annika looked up into her sister's green eyes while Rosella saw fear her sister's cerulean eyes. Holding her sister in her arms she replied soothingly, "Shh…be calm, Annika. I have to send you to some place safe," as she patted the back her sister's head softly.
"But Rosella…I'm scared," as Annika wrapped her arms around her sister's waist while her shoulders trembled as she began to weep.
Kneeling down in front of her sister, Rosella reached up with her hand and wiped away her sister's tears while saying, "Shh…don't cry. There's nothing to be scared of. When it's safe again, I'll bring you back, okay?"
"What? You're not coming with me?" Annika sobbed as she began rubbing at her eyes.
"I have to stay here and help Father and Mother, you know that," Rosella explained not saying that they had already been defeated.
"I don't want to go alone," Annika bawled.
"Annika, have I ever broken a promise with you," Rosella said as she removed her sister's hands from her face and held her chin.
"Mm-muh…," Annika shook her head.
"That's right, so be brave, okay," Rosella smiled.
"Okay," Annika smiled brightly and when she smiled, a small ray of sunshine peeked its way through the clouds.
"There's my brave little sister," Rosella smiled brilliantly as she stood up.
As Rosella tucked a strand of hair behind her sister's ear when she suddenly flung her sister behind her as a sword struck where Annika once stood. "Well, well, and here I thought I could take out the younger princess before taking the older one to our leader," said a shady young man, his raven hair blowing in the breeze as he stood on the ledge to the balcony.
"Annika, stay behind me," Rosella said to her sister. "And you, what do you people want?" she proclaimed angrily as Annika went and stood behind the wall and peeked out.
"Our leader wants this world and your powers, and he will get them, princess," he sneered.
"Over my dead body," she glared.
"Oh no, we don't want you dead. If you were dead, how would our leader get your powers," he laughed maniacally.
"Then why kill Annika, she has power!" she stated.
"That little pipsqueak, what good would it do. She can't control her power," he stated as the clouds became darker and as he looked straight at Annika hiding behind the wall, he replied coldly, "If she can't control her power, she's as good as dead."
"Why you…," Rosella exclaimed as she shot a blast of magic from her hands, hitting the man in the chest and sending him backwards.
Turning around swiftly she said sternly as she opened up a swirling, misty portal, "Annika, come here. Step inside the portal, hurry!"
"But sister…," Annika choked, tears swelling up.
"Don't believe a word he says, okay," Rosella says reassuringly as she wiped away her sister's tears.
"That was the wrong move, princess," the young man glared darkly as he sent a wave of dark energy at the two princesses.
Bringing her hands up in front of her, she blocked the dark magic; however, the young man was already finishing up a spell and not knowing what would happen, Rosella shoved Annika into the portal and before it closed up she heard Annika cry out, "Sister, no…!"
"Be safe...Annika," she smiled sadly as a single tear rolled down her cheek, May you find friends and happiness.
Yet, just as Annika entered the portal, the dark wizard had finished his spell. The spell was neither an offensive or defensive spell; it simply was a memory spell that caused the entire world to forget the World's name and the royal family.
As he ended the spell he looked down at the balcony from where he was hovering and saw the youngest princess gone while older one stood up straight with just a single tear rolling down her cheek.
Furious, he dropped down behind Rosella and snarled as he grasped her neck, "Where is she?"
"Do I detect fear? How ironic since you…," she began to say before he put pressure on her neck knocking her unconscious.
Slinging Rosella over his shoulder he went to regroup with his companions.
The sound of his leather boots as he walked up next his companions, they looked up and saw Princess Rosella over his shoulder. A cloaked young woman in the group glanced at him and said, "What took you so long? Our leader managed defeat King Antonio and Queen Marissa but they managed to put up a barrier so we can't enter the Magic Dimension until we find a way to break it."
"Great, so we won't be able to go after her," the young man said.
"Her? Where is Princess Annika? Is she dead?"
"No, she's not. Unfortunately, her sister was able to send her away some where," the young man replied, "I tried asking where she sent her but she just mocked me instead."
"So you're saying you lost your temper again," the woman said.
"It's no matter. Our spell worked so we've won and she's just a kid. What can she do? This entire world as lost all hope," replied an older man leaning against a stone pillar.
"Precisely, now let's take her to our leader," the woman replied pointing her thumb at Rosella.
"Yes, let's. We all need to regain our strength which could take a very long time," replied the older man as he almost lost his balance.
As they walked away to rejoin with their leader, the younger man couldn't help but think, Lost all hope. No, this world's hope lies in the heart of a young child. We'll need to be careful in the future since when she returns, she won't be a child anymore.
Next Time: Who is the red-haired girl? What is the strange mirror in the library of Alfea? Who are the group of people on the ship in the middle of storm? Find out next on Lost Memories; A New World; A New World.
End Note: There you have it and for this story I am going to have her love interest be Portgas D Ace, so a certain event will have to change. :)
