For so long, I've been alone. It seems like so many years ago that I was surrounded by my friends—by my sisters. Together we had formed a group called the Assassins. However, our happiness and time together was fleeting. There were five of us: Diao Chan, Da Qiao, Xiao Qiao, Yue Ying, and me, Xin Ying. We specialized in many different skills: acting; playing instruments—anything that would help disguise what we were: unforgiving killers. Not only did we perfect the most basic skills that would disguise us as ordinary women, we specialized in combat. What exactly did we do with our fighting abilities? It was quite simple, really. Anytime we felt the need to take down—note that this is a euphemism—a tyrannical or corrupt power-holder, we utilize the skills we have. For instance, a strategy we've used included disguising ourselves noblewomen and secretly finishing our business of poisoning a wealthy lord who performed acts of depravity. However, our enemies weren't only limited to officials of high ranking. They could also include bandits—anyone who harmed innocent people.

Each of us was assigned ten female warriors, and three were our personal guards. No male has ever been part of our group. After all, we were constantly underestimated. The armies of the three kingdoms were made up of almost all males. So why would they bother to join us? It was extremely rare for a woman to have a place in the army unless they were royalty. Being female also gave us an advantage: we were less likely to be suspected by our enemies.

We knew how to survive in the wilderness, and we were independent. Our weapons consisted of a bow, arrows, a small hidden dagger, and a weapon of our choice which was usually a sword. My small army and I had a base deep in a forest. We could hunt and gather food. Sometimes one leader and her troops would leave for a few days to take down anything we considered a threat.

It was easy to recognize one of the Assassins when we were in our armor; the protective clothing we donned was extremely unique. We had pale gray armor, pale gray breastplate, silver arm guards and shin guards. Hidden inside the sleeve of our armor was a small dagger in case we were disarmed.

But, all the other leaders diappeared. Diao Chan went on a dangerous mission to assassinate Dong Zhuo; she never came back. Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao went on a mission to bring down Sun Ce and Zhou Yu; they never returned. Yue Ying went into the Shu territory to bring back supplies. You can pretty much guess that she never returned.

Now, there was only my lady soldiers and me against the Wu force. They were attempting to put us down for setting their base on fire and ambushing their soldiers. I must applaud them for progressing much further than I originally anticipated. Their small force pushed my Assassins back until we were at the base of a mountain. Our only chance of escaping was to charge through their fortress, for I had feared that they've set traps and poisons in the forest surrounding us. In addition, the vegetation was highly flammable, and Wu was known to be merciless pyromaniacs. But, by intruding my territory, they had asked for my wrath. This would be my opportunity to avenge Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao!

I am the last leader of the Assassins, and I shall not falter!
