Whisper to the Wind
Here Lies Ciel Phantomhive
Born: December 14, 1875
Died: August 26, 1888
Adelice looked at the tombstone that marked the death of the young earl
Her long caramel locks hung lank and thin, covering her pale face.
She reached a black-clad hand up to her face to wipe the tears from her eyes, which we're puffy and red from crying.
She clutched a single white lily to her chest.
In the pocket of her long black dress were two small chess pieces, a white pawn and a black king.
She kneeled on the ground and placed the lily on the crisp autumn grass, then she took the chess pieces from her pocket.
She placed the king upright then knocked the pawn onto it's side.
"Sleep well, dark prince."
She took a step back, her black veiled hat blew off her head and flew off in the autumn winds.
Her copper hair blew around her head, the crisp winds blowing up the hem of her long black dress.
~~*Whisper to the Wind*~~
Ciel watched the girl lay the lily on his 'grave' as well as the chess pieces.
This young girl of twelve, was the only person he had truly loved in his mortal life. But no matter now.
He was a demon, and demons have no feelings for the food they call humans.
So why did he feel a pain in his heart when he thought of her?
Why did he have the overwhelming urge to run to her and take her away?
Why did he want to lock her away to keep for himself?
Why did he want to make sure that only he could hear her voice, that he would be the only one she would ever look at?
He watched as she sat on the grass next to his grave and traced the letters engraved on the stone.
She ran her slender fingers along the dips and curves of the roughly cut stone.
"I know he's dead… So why does it feel as if the game isn't over yet?" she murmured
Ciel wanted to scream, to yell her name and tell her of his existence.
But he couldn't.
No.
He wanted to protect this girl, to keep her innocent.
He wanted to make sure that she didn't know she was one of the creatures she despised.
A demon and a human could never be in love.
It was taboo.
It was forbidden.
"It's over Adelice… all of it."
Ciel whispered to the wind.
