Dumbledore's Christmas Wish is Finally Granted

An old witch sat behind the counter of her store, knitting Christmas beanies with her wand. The store was covered in holly and garlands. Christmas was only days away, and the students from Hogwarts were on a Hogsmeade trip. She hoped that one would come in, as business had been rather slow lately. The bell on the door jingled. A raven haired boy, who looked to be about in his fourth year walked quickly in. "Ma'am?" he said.

"Yes boy?" she asked, looking up. The boy's green eyes were fixed on her through his glasses. Black hair...green eyes...glasses. The woman's gaze flicked to the young wizard's forehead. Sure enough, the lightning shaped scar shone in the light. Harry knew she had recognized him.

"Do you have any socks?"

"Socks?"

"Yes. Thick, wooly socks!"

"Yes."

"May I have 3 pairs?"

"What color would you like?"she gestured at a rack next to her.

"Hmmmm...light blue, orange, and green please."

She rang him up and handed him the pair of socks. "Thank you ma'am!" he called as he went out the door. The old witch leaned back into her chair and watched him leave. Tonight she would be telling everyone at the inn about how Harry Potter had come into her store and bought a pair of blue wool socks.

It was Christmas Eve. Harry hurried to the Gryffindor common room.

"Hi, Harry!" said Neville Longbottom.

"Hullo Neville!" replied Harry, smiling. Neville stuck a bow on the last Christmas present he was wrapping and stuffed it under his bed.

"Done!" he said, satisfied. Harry pulled out his shopping bag. Neville headed out the door. Harry wrapped all of his friends presents. Then he pulled out the blue socks. He stuck them in a small cardboard box, then wrapped the box in the burgundy wrapping paper he'd been using, and addressed it. He took the other two pairs and mixed them up so there were to pairs of mismatched orange and green socks. He put one pair in his drawer and wrapped the other.

"Dobby!" he whispered. The elf appeared in a few seconds, smiling at his friend.

"Harry Potter sir, do you have a job for Dobby sir?"

"Yes Dobby, I've got a present for you, and a present for you to deliver! Would you deliver it for me?"

"Oh yes Harry Potter sir!"

"Alright Dobby, could you take this package to the Headmaster's office?"

"Yes Harry Potter sir!" Dobby took the package and dissapeared. He was back a minute later. Harry gave Dobby his present. Dobby opened it. He loved the socks, to put it blandly.

Albus Dumbledore walked into his office on Christmas Morning, smiling. He opened his desk drawer and stopped. There was a package, simply wrapped in burgundy colored wrapping paper. Dumbledore picked it up, perplexed, and read the address.

To Professor Dumbledore, with thanks for everything, and hopes that you have a Merry Christmas!

"What can Harry have gotten me?" Dumbledore wondered aloud. He opened the present, then laughed, remembering what he had told Harry he saw in the Mirror of Erisdor*

"Well played Harry! "

A.N: Hey guys. First of all, I want to make it clear that I dont mean this as a romantic pairing, but more of a father-son thing. That over with, if anyone could remind me of the name of that Mirror, I would be much obliged.

TY!
