A/N: Okay, this was my first story ever! So bear with me for this one. It was for a contest. We had to write a Halloween story and all of these certain items had to be used in the story. I didn't win, but I was almost given the most creative award.

The

HALLOWEEN

Story

Anelya glanced around the room fearfully. She had no idea why she was here, but decided to get out right away. She looked around and saw all these random things in the room. There was a garden hose, a saw, a toothbrush, a rotten pumpkin, a mechanical pencil, an old blanket, a bucket and a cardboard box. "Well," she thought aloud," I might as well take them with me." She grabbed everything, put it all in the box, and opened the door. She was scared so she took the saw to guard her as she looked around the house. The first floor had no doors to the outside, and she knew she couldn't saw through the wall. She would have to go up. As she explored the house, she found a kitchen, a bathroom, a dining room, and of course, the bedroom she had started off in. She walked into the dining room once more, and saw some writing on the wall. She took the bucket, filled it with water in the bathroom, and used the toothbrush to scrub the dirt away. After she had cleaned it, she found that she had a map. She guessed it was of the house. She looked for a door on the map, but there was none. It did show a skylight at the top of the 3 story house, though. "I guess that's where I'm headed." she thought.

She crept up the stairs, looking around furtively. She had to go through another room to get to the stairs going up. As she slowly opened the door, she heard a voice. It said, "Hello, my guest. Come to say hello?" It was a vampire. She shrieked, picked up the pumpkin and hit him on the head with it. Then she took the pencil and stabbed it in his eye. She didn't like blood, but it was a life and death situation, wasn't it? She ran away, scared that the vampire would wake up and come after her. She hoped she had knocked him out well.

As she climbed up the stairs, she thanked her lucky stars that nothing had happened to her. When she got to the third floor, she found half of it gone. There was a little platform going up where she was, and rope going from that to the other side, where the skylight was. "How do I get across?" she thought. Then it dawned on her. She threw the blanket over the rope and held both ends. She grasped the blanket with both hands, and held the box with a few fingers. She was scared out of her wits. Here she was, scared of heights, going to slide across a rope on a blanket. "Better now than never." she thought, and then jumped. She was so scared she couldn't scream. She reached the other side safely.

She sighed in relief at making it there, but jumped when she heard a voice behind her. The vampire was awake! And he was coming to get her! She quickly grabbed the saw and hacked at the rope. The vampire was halfway to her when the rope broke and he fell down, through the second floor, on to the first. She hurriedly climbed up through the skylight onto the roof. The full moon was there, to guide her way, to keep her safe. Well, she hoped it would keep her safe. She tied one end of the hose to a pole that stuck up on the roof, and lowered the rest down. She quickly slid down, and ran to safety!
