A ruler must always beware of foes dressed as friends.
-Admoneo, royal advisor to Adalricus, 1st Emperor of Orbis Terrae in the Avitus Dynasty
An air taxi slowed to a halt next to a nightclub, the pilot motioning that he expected payment for his service. The hooded figure in the passenger seat glanced up. The colorful signs on the building's facade advertised drinks and foods of various prices, as well as nightly entertainment, all standard for Coruscant nightclubs. However, if one looked closely enough (and could read Shinuloc), they would notice the promise of secret meeting rooms. That was why he was here. Someone had sent him an invitation to meet at this nightclub, the Crystal Snake.
"Whoever requested my presence is very lucky I am not busy." Thought the man as he exited the cab and paid his fare. He walked into the club quickly in order to avoid unwanted attention. Naturally, as soon as he entered, he caught the eye of the bouncer, a large Zabrak, or perhaps a Dathomirian.
"Do anything stupid, and you're out, you hear?" grunted the being, a standard warning of what would happen if anyone got rowdy. The man began walking at a slightly faster pace.
He stopped to ask the bartender where the chamber in which his meeting was to take place was located. The stoic creature simply jabbed its finger to the right. The man thanked it and headed to the room.
When he entered the chamber, it was pitch black. He reached out with the Force, attempting to discern if it was a trap. He felt nothing. Whoever had contacted him was either not there, or was cloaking their presence. Either way, something was wrong.
Just then, he heard the sound of something breathing. He was not alone in the chamber. He began to check his robes for a glowrod. Suddenly, someone spoke to him.
"You're here. Sadly, my employer had to attend to other matters. However, he did record what he wanted to say to you on this holo." The man found what he was searching for, and activated it. He wished he hadn't.
