Bored Games.

"BUT IT'S UNFAIR!" echoed around the bed and breakfast.

Life as an artifact hunter certainly was rife with excitement, but the long periods of quiet were hardly highlighted in the job description. When there were no 'pings' nor paper work to be done, there was surprisingly little else to do. So every once in a while, after the world had been saved, and disasters upon disasters had been adverted, they all got to relax.

Today, the team had gathered around the table and thrown at their feet were various board games. Monopoly was strewn across half the room, dismissed after no one had trusted Pete as the banker and a pack of cards were neatly stacked under Helena's chair after Claudia managed to trick her into playing 52 Card Pick-Up. The next box had been revealed and so had Pete's dismay.

"Totally unfair, I'm not playing Scrabble against the human dictionary."

He nodded at Myka, and then turned to face Helena

"And HG Freaking Wells who is a God with words."

Crossing his arms and huffing dramatically he managed to look like a five year old on the cusp of a tantrum.

"No offence Claud, but we ain't got a chance. God knows how many words she might have even invented. Not fair. Nuh huh. Not playing."

No one noticed Myka's hand slipping under the table, allowing her to intertwine her fingers with her girlfriends. Smirking slightly Helena glanced at Myka before speaking.

"Well I do have a talented tongue…"

Myka blushed.

"….linguistically speaking of course, but unfortunately I don't think I can take credit for inventing words. I fear you're mixing up famous and influential authors again dear."

Pete glared at Claudia who was trying to hide her laugh behind her drink, and flicked a tile at her face, which hit her on the cheek and fell into said beverage.

"Right." Claudia said. "That was fluke…"

Caught up in creating a new game that involved scrabble tiles, flicking and targets, Claudia and Pete didn't even notice Myka and Helena slip out of the room, still holding hands and whispering to each other.

"Talented tongue? Prove it."
