York.
1300 hrs.
As the afternoon sun took its place above the Earth, its light was shimmering on a small state in New York.
It was a state full of adventures, terrors, nightmares, laughter, heroism. Ah, heroism.
A word which not many places may boast they have. However, this particular city has seen it all. Everything.
How is it possible? It is a long, sad story. About a man who was a hero, with powers. Protecting his home from disasters unlike Mother Nature. He was destroying all those who threatened his society. However, I t was too late to save his own love, joy and life. He consoles himself by saying that by losing 1 life, he has saved a million more.
Great power does come with Great responsibility.
"Where's Parker? He has an interview today at 1.15pm!" yelled our infamous Jonah Jameson.
"He's coming sir. He phoned to say he's on his way". The desk-lady smiled as she said this.
"He better be. The press aren't coming here for nothing".
"He is coming sir".
"Thank You Chloe, you may continue your work".
Outside.
"WOOHOOO! Its been a long time since I've done this!" Peter Parker Yelled as he swang from building to building. Long time. Very long. Very long since I've seen Mary Jane he thought in his confused mind.
He had seen her fall off 23 storeys ,hit a rocky bottom, but he still believed she was alive.
A lover's hope never fails, he thought, trying to console himself.
Good thing I took care of Venom, I had taken my revenge he quietly remembered.
As he swinged past buildings, he noticed a familiar place. The local drama theatre.
Suddenly his mind was filled with memories of his loved one. He could still feel as if she was there, watching him.
Well, he wasn't very far off.
"Parker! Where have you been?",Jameson screamed as usual.
"Relax Jonah. I'm here now", Parker said cheekily.
"What did you say?".
"I meant Sir. Sir.".
"That's more like it. Get into the conference room, all are sitting ducks waiting for you."
"All I did was save Manhattan."
"All you did was save my son", Jameson smiled warmly.
Parker was thrown back by his smile. Not only was his smile creepy, it was the first time he had smiled like that. Parker could only count his misfortune as he had to be the first one to see that.
A smug Parker adjusted his tuxedo, while walking down the lane of doors towards the conference room. Relax Parker. Answer their questions truthfully, don't try to be to much of a hero. Be humble.
He decided to listen to himself,as he burst though the bulky doors of the Conference room.
"Welcome, Mr Parker".
"Hello. I believe you guys are the press?"
"Yes we are. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you".
"No it's nothing really. I just did my job".
Nice one Parker. Humbleness is the way to go. Keep it up.
A certain reporter smiled, and asked him a question which Parker wanted to avoid.
"Mr. Parker , may I ask you the question which everyone wants to know?".
Oh no. I'm trapped, Parker felt. Of all the times, now?
