Off To Sea
He looked at her face,
With a sad smile,Swept away a loose hair,
Her sweetest fair face,an air of true grace,
A beauty, unlike that, so rich and rare.
She had swore she had loved him, never gave in,
No matter the starlight or storm,
And from innocent sin, came a cooling within,
She bid him stay, keep her warm.
But he kissed her small hands, as he held them in his,
promised to return, said he,
And with one last kiss, surely to be missed,
He left her, to go off to sea.
Well, the years passed by, every minute and day,
And this poor little beauty, she cried,
In the lazy sun's rays,to lands far away,
She pondered, was her love still alive?
A bestoed gift of youth was taken and returned,
And golden hair turned to gray,
Still she never concerned, always would yearn,
That, her love would return some day.
One day, she was sure, that the light from above,
Was coming to take her away,
With peace as a dove, She said goodbye to love,
I am dying, dying, she would say.
Somewhere above this foolish world,
Two loves found love, with such glee,
Here was his old girl, his love, and his pearl,
And He loved her, for eternity.
