HEARTBEATS

One night to be confused
One night of speed up truth
We had a promise paid
Four hands and then away

"No one will know?" he asked into his ear – moist lips grazing the skin and sending a shudder down his spine.

"Our secret," he replied, the grin audible in his voice, even over the loud music. "One night, no strings attached."

The hesitation drained from his features. The corners of his mouth twitched into the hint of a smile.

Both under influence
We had a divine sense
To know what to say
Mind is a razor blade

A beer too much, several shots too many and the light touch of fingers running over the back of his hand. He laughed at all his jokes and listened to every word he had to say. Then there were no words left, or maybe not words enough, and the silence was filled with touches instead. Noah took him by the hand when they stepped outside, leaving the throng, the noises and the uncertainty behind. The trick was to say nothing at all.

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no

The rain fell heavily and they ran through it. It soaked their hair and clothes all the way to their skin; molten caramel and chilly porcelain. Kurt was laughing, his eyes still enlightened with it when they were safely tucked behind a locked door and Noah undressed him. They peeled layers and layers off of each other, right there in the hall, until there was nothing left but them. No one else but them would do.

One night of magic rush
The start a simple touch

Kurt was the one to reach out first. He was leaning against the wall behind him, maybe because he did not trust his legs to keep him upright, when he stretched out his arm. The tips of his fingers were cold and wet, but gentle when they caressed his throat and jaw. He stroked damp hair from his forehead. Can't believe you have curls, his eyes said, but it was never spoken out loud. He let his hand grasp the back of his neck and urged him forward.

One night to push and scream
And then relief

They were entangled between sheets for hours and minutes; exploring, feeling, obsessing and loving. Everything they had ever felt was put out there, poured from their eyes and lips in the form of tears and giggles, groans and moans. Noah fell asleep inside of him.

Ten days of perfect tunes
The colours red and blue
We had a promise made

It rained for ten days. A constant downpour slamming against the windows.

Kurt wore Noah's shirt and nothing else when he made breakfast. Noah made dinner wearing nothing at all.

Kurt sang in the shower. Noah made him moan beneath the hot spray of water.

Kurt stayed. Noah did not mind. The promise once made was forgotten.

We were in love

Sometimes he would look at him and think that it could last forever.

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough

And you, you knew the hands of the devil

Noah was not blind. He saw the scars.

And you, kept us awake with wolves teeth
Sharing different heartbeats
In one night

Sometimes Kurt cried in his sleep. Noah would hold him tight enough not to know if it was his heart which was racing uncomfortably or if it was Kurt's.

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no
To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough

Noah's hands would stroke the nightmares away.
