Colby lay on his sofa with an ice pack on his head, he tried to sit up but winced when another stab of pain ran through his head.
"I told you to stop moving." Charlie smirked as stopped next to the sofa and looked down at Colby.
"Shut up Charlie, I need to get to work." Colby said sitting up completely. He held his head as it continued to throb.
"Well then, you shouldn't have tried to shoot me." Charlie said folding his arms over her chest.
"I thought you were breaking into my apartment," Colby scoffed.
"I have a key!"
"Which you never use."
"I was trying to do something nice," Charlie said.
Colby's face softened. "Like what?"
Charlie shrugged. "Doesn't matter,"
"It does matter, I want to know." Colby said lifting his hand and rubbing it over Charlie's hip, pulling him foreword.
"I was going to make you breakfast," Charlie smiled lightly. "As I knew you had a bad yesterday."
"Seriously?" Colby said.
"Yeah," Charlie said blushing a little but didn't turn away from Colby.
"I love you, you know." Colby smiled. It was the first time he had ever said it and it made his heart flutter rapidly.
Charlie grunted and turned away. "I better get off, I'll talk to you later."
Colby could only watch as Charlie grabbed his bag and walked out of the apartment. He groaned and put his head in his hands. When Colby looked up he saw some pain killers on the table and took them dry. He stood up and grabbed his stuff ignoring his head which was thumping. He wished he could tell Don that he didn't have to worry about his brother, he really could throw a good punch.
Colby sat in the office doodling on the piece of paper in front of him. He didn't realise what he was drawing until he saw a heart of the piece of paper. Colby cursed himself and picked up his phone. He needed to talk to Charlie, he couldn't deal with this anymore. His head was completely messed up all he could think about anything except Charlie. He pressed the speed dial button on his cell, putting it next to his ear when he saw Charlie on his screen.
He heard the ringing end and someone about to say hello.
"Charlie! Listen, don't talk. Please. I'm sorry."
He heard the person on the end of the call take a breath in.
"Charlie, I shouldn't have said I love you, It was too soon but I meant it and I know you don't feel that way about me and I don't expect you to say it back, I never will but I just wanted to tell you."
Colby waited for Charlie to answer.
"I'll just get Charlie for you Colby."
His heart dropped. "Mr Eppes?"
"Yes Son, Just one minute."
Colby swore and thumped his head on the table.
"Colby, why is my dad grinning at me like an idiot?"
