A/N: This literally just popped into my head last night and I typed it out today. Has nothing to do with Kicked Out, and will give no spoilers whatsoever for the plot. Enjoy!
"Nonfat grande mocha and a medium drip, please," Kurt said as he pulled his wallet out of his schoolbag. His boyfriend was waiting at their usual table—letting Kurt pay, for once—with Santana and Brittany for their double-date. The two girls were almost in each other's laps, earning the title of 'Cutest Couple in the Lima Bean on a Tuesday Afternoon' by the barista as she gave Kurt the coffee. He handed her a $10 bill and took the two cups, laughing at what she had said.
"Keep the change, Steph," Kurt called as he walked back to his table. He handed Blaine his coffee, still giggling.
"What's so funny, Kurt? Is someone tickling you?" Brittany asked, somehow sounding serious as she craned her neck to see if anyone was behind the boy. Santana just squeezed the blonde's hand in her own and looked up at Kurt.
"The barista over there, Stephanie," Kurt said, pointing at the girl in question, "crowned you two as, and I quote, 'The Cutest Couple in the Lima Bean on a Tuesday Afternoon.'"
Santana giggled, Brittany blushed, and Blaine just waved at the girl at the coffee machine. She waved back, blowing him an exaggerated kiss.
"Guys, we'll be right back, I have to go to the bathroom and with her luck, Brit will end up finding trouble with someone, so I'mma take her with me." The Latina winked as she left, pulling her girlfriend along by her hand.
"So, now that they're gone," Blaine began, raising an eyebrow at the two girls, "we have a bit of privacy."
It was true—they were in the back corner of the the room, and there wasn't really anyone around them.
"C'mere," Kurt mumbled as he pressed his lips to Blaine's and sat down. He got lost in the kiss, letting the coffee shop around them fade. A hand ventured up Blaine's arm and into his currently gel-free curls, tangling itself in them and pulling the boy closer.
The two continued like this until they heard someone clearing her throat behind them. They broke apart and looked at the culprit—a girl around fifteen with strawberry-blond hair pulled into a messy braid, wearing a dark t-shirt and faded jeans.
"Uh, I wouldn't do that in public if I were you—" the girl was cut off by a death glare from Kurt. He opened his mouth to say something, but the girl quickly caught herself and finished what she was saying.
"No, that's not what I meant, honestly! I just don't think the, uh, noises you two were making are appropriate for a coffee shop." The boys blushed, looking at the girl and then each other. An awkward silence filled the space for a minute, until the mystery girl decided to break it.
"I'm Cassandra, by the way, but all my friends call me Cassie." She looked at the other two expectantly.
"I'm Blaine, and this is Kurt," the smaller of the two said, sticking out his hand. Cassie shook it, then did the same with Kurt.
"So, what brings you here," Kurt asked, noticing the girl's lack of food and drink.
"When I'm bored I come here to study. I'm home schooled, so that's probably why we've never met," she added when she saw the confusion on his face.
"Hey White Boy, Mop-Top, we're back!" Santana called as she came into view. Brittany was still attached to her hand, looking around aimlessly. "Who're you?"
"Cassie," the new girl said, giving a small wave.
