A/N: Just a little one shot that came to me while writing my thesis for an AP World History Essay (wouldn't leave me alone, I just had to get it out XD)

"Its...cute," was all sakura could say as she stepped over the threshold and into Naruto's small appartment. "you're a very...minimalist kind of guy, huh?" Sakura asked as she inspected the small living space unbashedly.

The blond let out a sheepish laugh and moved past the nosy kunoichi and to the table in the middle of the kitchen/dinning/living room. He began subconsiously tidying up the empty cup-o-ramen and expired milk and yogurt containers that littered the otherwise plain white surface and turned to the pinket when he was finished, "Sakura," said kunoichi looked up from her inspection of a strange stain on the wall, "Um...i'll go get that book you needed," he moved towards the hallway and said over his shoulder as an afterthought, "You can sit if you'd like, there's a chair at the table." and he was out of sight.

Sakura looked over at the simple table, and then the small chair that was tucked into the side. 'How strange...' she thought, realizing that there was only that one chair at the table. A quick look around told the girl that there were no other chairs in the room.

Naruto came out after about three minutes to find that the kunoichi had never taken his offered seat, but apparently continued with her investigation of his dwelling, judging by her calculated expression. "You okay, Sakura?" he asked, the book she was after held loosly against his side.

She snapped her attention to the orange clad boy, and looked down at the small blue book with a small smile. "Oh, yeah," Sakura extended her hand to receive the book, and began flipping through the pages when it was handed to her, "I was just wondering where you put your other chairs, thats all," she said nonchalontly.

"Oh, I don't have any more chairs," Naruto stated simply.

Sakura couldn't hold back the surprise that sprung into her features. She looked up at the obviously confused blond and asked, "How can you only have one chair?"

Naruto shrugged, not seeing why having the number of chairs he owned was such a big deal, "I just never needed more than one," he answered, only realizing the implication to his words as they were said aloud. 'I...only ever needed one...no one ever visited afterall,' he thought suddenly, putting on a mask to keep the pain of his realization hidden.

There was a slightlyawkward silence between the two as neither of them knew what to said, suddenly, Sakura's expression twisted from that of pitty to a sort of amusement, "Come on," she laughed, tossing the book on his table, grabbing Naruto's arm and pulling him towards the door.

"Wh-what? Sakura, what are you doing?" Naruto squeaked, feeling his heart leap into his throat and his palms become sweaty at the unexpected contact. She turned to look over her shoulder with a dazzling smile directed towards the blond.

"Lets go buy a chair, I'm sure the other one is lonely," she joked, knowing full well who the real lonely one in the small appatment was.
