1A/N: This is the first drabble/one-shot-thing in my series of drabble/one-shot things. I know a lot of people don't like drabble/one-shot things, but please read anyway. This one is pretty sad. Silver X Gray.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. At all.
Rain.
He padded over to the border. The fresh rain clung to the leaves and grass, and watery sunlight fell through the tree tops. He took a deep breath and relaxed. She was here. The beautiful silver she-cat came over to him, and pressed herself against his side, purring. He knew this should stop. They couldn't do this. But still... it felt so good. She was everything he ever wanted, ever dreamed of. She was like the rain, she made the world sparkle. She made everything she touched glow, every time he saw her he was short of breath. She possessed every last bit of him, he couldn't imagine life without her. He didn't want to. He could feel her everywhere he went. There was no such thing as separation for them. They were together.
He had told her she was like the rain many times before. At first she hadn't understood. She had been hurt, because she thought he meant she dampened his spirits. But then he had explained, by taking her to Four Trees after it rained. It had taken her breath away. Every leaf, every flower, every blade of grass sparkled. Every tiny raindrop was beautiful. The rain made the world shine with a surreal beauty, a beauty that many didn't stop to look at. It was one of the small pleasures of the world, but such an important part of life. And the way the sunlight caught the rain was simply overwhelming for her. It was as if a million little rainbows were in every raindrop. If she was the rain, he was the sun. He made her glow, made her shine. His strength and determination, the way he was always so gentle, just everything about him made her heart pound. She knew that they couldn't go on like this forever. But just for a little while. It couldn't hurt. Something that made someone feel so wanted, so loved, so complete, it just couldn't hurt.
He couldn't believe this was happening. He should have stopped this before he had ruined her life. But he didn't know how he would live without her then. He didn't know how he'd live without her now.
"Please Silverstream, please!" He whispered in her ear. "Please don't leave me. I love you. I need you. I'll do anything. Don't leave me!" He cried. She looked at him with mournful blue eyes. Reaching up, she touched noses with him for the last time.
"I will never leave you. No matter what happens, I will always need you. I love you. I will never stop loving you. It will never stop raining." She licked his cheek, and laid her head on the cold hard earth. Letting out a wail, he pressed his nose into her soft silver fur. There was the scent of blood, and RiverClan, and the forest, but underneath it all, there was something else. The scent of rain.
A/N: I nearly cried while writing this. I can get very emotional sometimes. Now reviewers, do what you do best!
