I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh, or Seto or Mokuba. This was just a little dabble for my sis at x-mas, and I kinda didn't think it was that great, but she loves it. Tell us who's right, will you?

Storm

Seto sighed, irritably staring up at the ceiling. The room was cast in shadows, the only light coming from the lightning outside his window. The rain hadn't begun to fall yet, but the storm was moving closer.

Seto rolled over, curling into a ball under his blankets, searching for warmth. A shiver swept through his body, but he ignored it, wondering why he couldn't sleep. It wasn't the thunder or lightning; those usually helped him to sleep. The near rhythmic rolls, but still random flashes of light generally rocked him into peaceful dreams. But not tonight. Seto tossed and turned for another hour before the steady pat of rain began to pound on his window.

Suddenly he heard a shriek. But it died so quickly, he couldn't be sure that he'd actually heard it. Seto climbed out of bed and walked out of his bedroom. Looking up and down the hall, he could see nothing. Who could have that been? he wondered. He started down the hall, when Mokuba ran headlong into him. Seto cried out as he fell, but was unable to catch himself, and they both fell to the ground.

"Mokuba," Seto growled. But he didn't go on as his brother threw his arms around him and began to sob. Seto pulled him closer, and the two sat in the dark hall for several minutes before Mokuba could compose himself enough to speak. In that time Seto gently stroked his hair and rubbed his back, telling him that it was alright; he was safe. It all felt rather odd to Seto, for none of this was at all like him. At last Mokuba managed to explain what was wrong.

"I was sleeping, and I dreamt that there was a fire. We couldn't get out, and no one could find us." Mokuba swallowed hard, then continued. "Y-you put your arm out through the fire, screaming for help, and I just cried." Mokuba lost control again here, and Seto held him close until he could talk again. "No one was coming, so you wrapped me in your arms and carried me out, protecting me from everything with your body. But once we were away from the building and you put me down, you fell. You couldn't breathe, and your skin was burnt." Tears were pouring from Mokuba's eyes again. "Seto, you never got back up!" Mokuba began to sob again, and Seto took him back to his bedroom.

"Don't worry," Seto murmured. "Nothing is going to happen. We're going to be just fine, I promise." The night wore on, and Mokuba soon fell back asleep, exhausted from crying. Seto held him, watching out the window, listening to the thunder, rain and wind. Eventually he laid his head down and drifted away, curled up against his brother for warmth.

END!
