"ARTHUR!" Eames yelled as he stared in horror down at The Point Man. A projection had thrown him through a window and everything had almost turned into slow motion as he freefell towards the ground, glass showering everywhere.
He was still alive. Staring silently up at the sky, unable to make a noise because the wind had been knocked out of him when he hit the ground and he cold barely get air back into his lungs. Blood was slowly pooling around him from the gashes the glass had made and he moved his eyes, staring up at Eames.
He mouthed his name, shaking as he slipped into shock.
'Pain is in the mind.' Eames remembered that Arthur always said that whenever pain was mentioned. It may be in the mind, but it broke his heart staring down at the normally indestructible point man that was bleeding out on the pavement.
He aimed at Arthur's forehead and gave him an apologetic look. He nodded weakly before closing his eyes, waiting for the shot.
-
Eames' eyes shot open and he glanced over at Arthur. He woke violently and gasped, panicking as he woke from a traumatic death. The rest of the team looked on in confusion. They had no idea of what had gone on. It had just been a test for a new layout.
The Forger rushed over and grabbed him, holding him so that he wouldn't accidentally hurt himself. Arthur's eyes were wild with panic, darting around the room as he tried to figure out where he was.
"Arthur, Darling it's alright. We're in the warehouse. Its fine, you're alive." He gradually calmed down and slumped back against Eames, breathing hard.
"What was that?" Cobb asked, looking between the two.
"Nothing Cobb, Arthur got pushed out of a building and then I shot him, it's fine now."
Cobb nodded in understanding, he knew how bad death like that in a dream were, it took the dreamer a moment before they could calm down.
"Thank you Eames." Arthur whispered, closing his eyes and relaxing against the Forger.
"Anytime Love, anytime."
