Chapter 1:
June 19, 2020. Journal Entry #1:
Sometimes, people wonder to themselves of what the end of the world would be like. Would it be the sun crashing down on earth, a black hole opening up due to scientists, or a nuclear war that forces people under ground? Well, it was neither of those. The world didn't explode or disappear; it stayed healthy and lively so that humans can still walk on the soil. So, why do I have the feeling that something is wrong?
End Journal Entry.
Sliding away from the computer, I sighed softly as I looked around the small house I found in the woods. It was not great, but it was doable to live in peace and not really worry about the outside world. Still, I felt a strange sensation that something bad was going to happen to Earth and all life was we know it will be gone. It was due to this fact that I wrote my first journal entry in such a long time and am planning to write more. I had so much on my mind, my brain pulsing with the words that I already knew I was going to write down one day. The temptation to continue writing was strong, but I kept it locked away the best I can.
Getting up, I turned my eyes towards the clock and realized it was about six in the morning, a yawn escaping me as I stretched out. I spent three hours, thinking about my first journal entry before typing it out, my eyes blood shot. Walking towards the small kitchen, I turned on the news and got myself a cup of coffee.
"For our top news of the day, an infected patience has escaped a local hospital. The patience's name is unknown and the police are trying to find this patience before more people become infected." Turning my attention towards the news, I leaned against the counter, taking a sip of my coffee as I still watched with a bit of interest. "Police say that anyone bitten by this patience will die, so we are advising people to lo… hey, who are yo... no, don't come any closer! NOOOO!" The news broadcaster screamed as a man covered in blood walked behind the desk and grabbing the female's head. What happened next would have made me puke if I ate something: the man forced his thumbs into the female's eyes, making trails of blood flow down her pale cheeks, and then he ripped open her head with his bare hands, destroying the skull and splattering blood all over the camera. After thirty seconds, I heard the sounds of flesh being ripped apart and someone eating.
Shaking my head, I turned off the news and walked outside of the house, taking in a deep breath. 'Patience… hmm… is this really how the world will end?' I thought to myself as I sat down on the rocker, my hands on my lap as I looked up at the sky. Even if I didn't know then, I would soon be fighting for my life, going across the states, trying to find more survivors.
