Zoo
Percy had volunteered to take seven year Samantha and three year old Zoey to the zoo so Annabeth could get some work done around the house. He was regretting making the offer after the first fifteen minutes of the car ride. And after the 45 minute car ride to the zoo and twenty thousand rounds of the itsy bitsy spider? He was ready to turn the car around to go back home. The only thing that stopped him from doing that was because he knew it would get him a night on the couch from Annabeth.
When they got to the entrance Percy was pleased to see a generally short line to get into the zoo. When they got into the zoo Samantha and Zoey started spitting out the animals they wanted to see at record speed.
"Giraffe"
"Gorillas"
"Lions"
"Rhinos"
"Seals"
Percy laughed. He couldn't help himself. He promised them they would see as many animals as they could and off they went. They got to the seals when Zoey said she had to go to the potty. Percy glanced at the map. Sure enough they were as far away as possible from the bathrooms. He glanced at Samantha whose sea green eyes were as wide as can be while she watched the seals do flips.
"Samantha, do you have to go to the bathroom?" Percy asked
"No Daddy, I do not." Percy groaned. Why couldn't the girls ever want to do the same thing? Why?
"Well Zoey has to so let's go okay? I'll get you ice cream when we get there." At the mention of ice cream Samantha pulled her eyes away from the seals and took ahold of her dads other hand. It took ten minutes to get there and by then Zoey looked like she had ants in her pants so Percy grabbed her and ran her into the family bathroom, forgetting to take Samantha with him. When he came out with Zoey she was nowhere to be found. Percy scooped Zoey up in his arms and began running from one area to the next. He was back at the seals when he felt a tucking on his shirt and a little voice saying Daddy. Percy looked down to see Samantha standing there with a little smile on her face. Percy knelt down to her and wrapped her in a giant hug.
"Where have you been?"
"I came to watch the seals." Percy took a deep breath.
"Don't you ever do that again." "And don't tell mommy about this." He added as an afterthought. Samantha smiled happily.
"I won't, if you get me ice cream." Percy stared down at his daughter.
"Fine. But then we have to go home."
"And we can sing the itsy bitsy spider on the way home!"
"NO!"
Okay so the oldest daughter is named Samantha cause that is the name my first reviewer ever suggested! Thanks! The next few stories will back track to before annabeth and percy were married and have children and I will try some new povs. R/R!
