Isabelle sneaked into Zachariah and Tessa's apartment. It was her last chance. to get back her cat, Church, before the couple went to Los Angelos. Despite the fact everyone didn't mind that Church had been stolen by a hot ex-Silent Brother, Isabelle refused to let go of Church and believed somewhere in Church's heart there was kindness.
As she scanned her surroundings, she realized she was in the living room and there on the couch was Church sleeping. Slowly and quietly, Isabelle paced over to Church but before she could reach him, the living room's lights were turned on. Isabelle gasped and turned to the doorway to find Zachariah standing there.
"Hello Isabelle Lightwood," he greeted her. It was strange that he was calm when she had sneaked into their apartment to steal the cat.
"Zachariah," she said nodding.
"I actually go by my former name, Jem, now," he told her.
"Congrats," she replied, "now I'll be leaving with my cat now."
"Oh your cat wondered in here? I wouldn't be surprised if Church ate or killed him. He doesn't like competition," Jem explained.
"No, you stole my cat," she corrected him.
Jem nodded, as if he finally remembered. "Oh you mean Church. Well, here's the thing: Church was my cat before I became a Silent Brother and he only likes me. So I just took him back."
"Well," Isabelle said, pretending to consider changing her mind, "I guess you can keep it." She lunged at Church, but Church had woken up and ran out of the room.
"It's rude to lie Isabelle," Jem lectured.
"Look, Jem, I'm taking him back. Whether you -or Church- like it or not," she said before grabbing a pillow and throwing at him.
Tessa had woken up that morning to find the living room in a mess as Jem and Isabelle battled with pillows. The cat himself was sleeping on the ground in the middle of the battle.
"This is 45th time they've been fighting over that damn cat," Tessa muttered as she proceeded to use magic -which she learned newly- to knock the two maniacs unconscious.
