Last DandelionClan challenge, let's go!
"Flamepool," Falconstar's voice boomed throughout the camp from the top of the Highrock. I flinched at looked around me, realizing my clanmates have already gathered without being told. Queens were holding their kits close or shooing them inside. Elders were grumbling amongst themselves or shaking their heads in disappointment. The warriors had mixed emotions. Some frowned and had their ears pressed against their heads, and others were glaring as if their stares would pierce me though. I looked back up at Falconstar with my shoulders low.
"You have been accused of taking the WindClan medicine cat as a mate, killing the kits in an attempt to pass them off to an enemy clan, and breaking the warrior code by doing so. Are these claims true?"
My mouth felt dry and I shook with dread. All my clanmates, all forty-three cats that have been in my care at some point, had their eyes on me. "Yes, they're true," I admitted at last.
Crys of outrage erupted throughout the camp.
"Traitor!"
"Death!"
"Exile!"
"We need our medicine cat!"
"Rule breaking scum!"
"QUIET!" Falconstar yowled, causing all jaws to clamp shut.
"I have already made my decision. You, Flamepool, have caused disorder between two great clans of the forest. You have broken the code that you swore to as an apprentice. It only seems just that the rightful punishment is..."
The entire clan took a collective breath.
"Exile."
The clan didn't dare speak out against the leader.
I hung my head in shame and nodded. "The leader's word is law. As you wish, Falconstar."
As I exited the camp, my steps grew heavy. I was never taught how to hunt. Never taught how to fight. I'd rather die at the claws of honorable warriors than those of a badger looking for an easy meal.
Life is risk. I took it, then lost it all.
