AN: Hey, so I'm still working on my Nightmare Before Christmas story, but I had to do a Perspective Piece for a class, and I got inspired. Not sure if anyone remebers the 2016 movie A Silent Voice: The Movie, also called映画 聲の形 Hepburn: Eiga Koe no Katachi, translated as The Shape of Voice: The Movie. If not, I HIGHLY recommned but have tissues at the ready. This movie will punch you in the gut with feels!
Which is why it mnade for the perfect insiration for my assignment. Not sure what grade I'll get, but since it was a poetry piece, and it's short so I thought I'd share it. Hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own The Shape of Voice or any of its characters. I merely used this as inspiration for my homework. Since the movie had a varying rating, I picked PG for this to be safe.
What Difference Does it Make
I walk into a new classroom
It's my first day, and I am very excited
The teacher taps my shoulder
I reach into my pack for the right notebook
I turn the page and tell them my name
I hope they will want to be my friends
I ask that they use this notebook to talk to me
I cannot hear
That was then, things have changed
Before my friends would write all the teacher said
Now they write mean comments and throw things
I just wanted to be friends
I thought hearing aids would help
They stole them right from my ears
I told my mother that I misplaced them
The fifth time made me bleed
Did I do something wrong?
I tried to apologize but they hate me more
My hands speak but no one listens
My voice is silent
