A/N: Okay. This is my first fanfic EVER! So please review if you like! This is going to be a one-shot and I'm just retelling this story from Fruits Basket. Don't know if anyone remembers it though. I literally cried a puddle of tears from it. Lol. Anyways, here you go!
There once lived a very wealthy, yet kind man. He had traveled day and night without stopping, looking for shelter. Then one day, he came upon a small village.
The children in that village came up to him and asked him politely for money to buy some food. As you see, these children had noticed that he was rich by the way he was dressed. He of course, complied and dropped a couple of dollars for them into the palms of their hands. They scurried away, eager to go buy some warm cream soup.
Day by day, more people came to him for money to pay for their debts and sometimes they'd even ask for his belongings and whatever strange antiques he had. To all of these requests, he couldn't say no, as a kind hearted person he was, he gave them all away.
When this man had nothing left, the villagers kicked him out. As easy as that and he didn't even complain or beg for them to let him stay. Instead, he just silently walked away and looked for another place for shelter. He walked and walked. Pass the prairie and into the forest.
As he was walking through the forest, night had begun to fall. So whether he liked it or not, he had to spend the night there. As he dozed off slowly, he suddenly heard a rustling sound from the bushes. He opened his eyes slowly and came face-to-face with three huge and very hungry monsters.
The first monster, out of the blue, asked the man, "Would you like to be our dinner?"
"Yeah, we're starving!" added the second monster.
The man, as foolish as he was, let them eat him up.
"I call the head!" shouted the third monster.
"Silly, that's the best part; we'll save his head for last," said the second monster and added, "that is, if we're not full yet."
The first monster cackled and said, "Yeah, butthead! Let's start eating him before he changes his mind, we'll have no dinner then and it's going to be your guys' fault!"
So they started eating him up. Bit by bit, until only his head was left. By then, the three monsters were already full. So they stood up and started their way home.
The third monster walked up to the man's head and said, "You are one very foolish man, but it was kind of you to let us eat you, so I brought you a gift."
The man couldn't have been happier! He thanked the monster and replied, "I've never gotten a gift before! I am overjoyed even though I cannot see this gift of mine!"
Next to the dead man's empty head with no eyes, on the cold frozen ground, was a slip of paper with one word written on it, "Fool."
A/N: Sorry! I really wanted it to be better, but it just turned out like this! AHH. Sorry (Again). I'll try harder next time on my new story! Tell me what you think in a review! XO.
