A/N: This is my first Cat's fic (yes, I know it is a poem). I have decided to write shorter pieces, since, if anyone knows my history, I have habit of abandoning my stories if I get board, which usually happens very quickly. Besides, poetry and short stories has always been my specially (this poem most likely will not show it, but have won many competitions in poetry).
Disclaimer: If I were to own Cats, which I obviously don't, wouldn't it make a lot more sense to include poetry about it in the actual play, rather than waste my time on a fan fiction website?
Don a Tuxedo and Dance the Night Away
Jellicle moon rises into the skies
Announcing the coming of Choice;
Alone sits a cat with bright yellow eyes,
Away from his family's rejoice.
Within his eyes a mischievous glare
He knows his debut's drawing near,
He fluffs up his coat, sings a silvery note
He feels not a droplet of fear.
His tight-nit clan joins together to sing
He adds in his own voice to the crowd,
As one, the festival starts to take wing
The chorus, not flat nor too loud.
Alas, calamity strikes through the night;
An enemy makes his thoughts clear,
His striped, grey brother puts up a fight
But looses one held very dear.
The yellow -eyed cat, sometimes called Quaxo
Was set upon saving the day,
He donned his tuxedo and cried out "Presto"
And he danced the whole night away.
