What I Did For Love
By Writer's Block247

Roger Davis sat on the windowsill, looking for inspiration for his latest song. Mimi had died in the fall of last year, so he missed her terribly. Mark had been there supporting Roger all he could without being pushed away.

Then, Roger saw his inspiration – young lovers holding hands and smiling. Tears in his eyes, he took out his notebook and wrote down the first words that came to his mind.

Kiss today goodbye,
The sweetness and the sorrow.
Wish me luck, the same to you.
But I can't regret
What I did for love, what I did for love.
Look my eyes are dry.
The gift was ours to borrow.
It's as if we always knew,
And I won't forget what I did for love,
What I did for love.

Gone,
Love is never gone.
As we travel on,
Love's what we'll remember.
Kiss today goodbye,
And point me t'ward tomorrow.
We did what we had to do.
Won't forget, can't regret
What I did for
Love

He didn't hear Mark sneak in the door, followed by Collins, Maureen and Joanne.

What I did for
Love
Joanne sang after a while. Roger turned around and saw his friends standing there.

What I did for... Roger sang.

Love
Love is never gone
As we travel one
Love's what we'll remember
Kiss today goodbye.
Everyone sang.

And point me t'ward tomorrow. Collins crooned.

Point me t'ward tomorrow
We did what we had to do.
Won't forget, can't regret
What I did for love.
What I did for love.
Mark and Joanne sang, the others following as if in a round.

What I did for love Maureen sang.

Love Everyone sang.

"I love you guys." Roger told his friends, hugging them all as they came over to him.

"We love you, too, Roger. Happy valentine's day." Everyone said in unison. Roger now had tears in his eyes, but that didn't matter. All that mattered was that he was with his loving family on one of the most hardest days for him.

A/N: Love? Hate? REVIEW!
A/N 2: I know the end was horrible, but I couldn't think of another way to end this story.
