So, we were thinking (dangerous, I know) about how we don't go into any detail about the letters other than the general outline, so we thought we would write the letters sent from Thrandy and Kili to the outside world.

Tell us what you think, as this is just a random thing to fill in plot holes and... stuff.

Thanks,
Tanith and Tam.

Chapter 20: Of active Elflings and Mental Breakdowns.

Bilbo,

All is well, you needn't fret about my absence. You see, I've landed myself in a certain...Mirky...forest, and the - Shall we say 'pointy eared Lord' of said forest kindly offered me a bed for a few nights. This...Lord, if you will, turned out to be quite pleasurable company. I trust you can wager my rough whereabouts and general security from what I've told you. I will return within my own time.

- Kili.

P.S. The 'Pointy eared Lord' is planning on sending some of his... subjects to invite the company to a gathering held in honour of our friendship and the newly re-formed alliance. One of them is his son. Heads up. Do anything you can. Put Thorin in a cage if you have to.

P.P.S. Burn this ASAP

Fili,

You know the drill, anything written can be used in evidence.

Seriously brother, how hard is it to pick up a pen and write to me once in a while? Really, I haven't seen you for so long, it's the least you could do to write an answer to a letter.

I'm not on my way back. I'm kinda in Mirkwood.

I met Thranduil in the forest on my way back to Erebor. He offered me food, and I accepted it. I'm now residing in the palace and it's nothing like Thorin told us. Thorin was wrong about Thranduil too, he's actually really nice and rather cute.. Ignore that last bit. I think that we need to forget about the day that Erebor fell. Hear me out on this, this is important. We weren't even there that day. There are generations of dwarfs that have been told all their lives about the Elf king, and how he left our race to die. I don't think that's right at all. It was in the best interests for his people not to help, and as their king, he had to think about how many of them would survive and how many would not return. When the former was too likely, he had to leave, whether he wanted to help or not...

Oh, Legolas and Tauriel are coming to Erebor to invite everyone to a party at Mirkwood. Personally I think that it's a suicide mission, but there you go.

Please make sure they don't get killed. I need Legolas in one piece to train against. Tauriel.. well I personally don't really care, but I'm sure someone out there does. Somewhere.

-Kili
