Disclaimer: The characters and events in the song aren't mine (they belong to J.R.R. Tolkien). It's to the tune of The Beatles' "She's Leaving Home."
Note: This is the first fic I've posted. I wrote it in math class. Be kind.
"He's Leaving Home"
Thursday evening at 8-o-clock as the day's at end
Sealing the letter that's lying there
Stands at the door with the wind in his hair
He goes down the path to the winding road with his pack in hand
Goes now to keep the appointment he made
Meeting two dwarves down in a glade
He (Why was it he had to go?)
- Is leaving (We didn't know that he'd go)
Home (We thought he'd stay in the Shire for good)
He's leaving home,
Leaving Frodo alone with his house and Ring
Hobbits talk as his nephew's trying to slip-away
Picks-up the letter on mantle's stair
Keeps calling "Bilbo, are you still there?"
He breaks down, and says to Gandalf
"I wish he hadn't gone
Why would he leave us without goodbyes?"
Tries hard to hold-back the tears in his eyes
He (Why was it he had to go?)
Is leaving (We didn't know that he'd go)
Home (We thought he'd stay in the Shire for good)
He's leaving home,
Leaving Frodo alone with his house and Ring
Now he journeys through Misty Mountains to Elrond's home
Stops to see Dwalin along the way
Will not be back there for many a day
He (Why was it he had to go?)
Is having (We didn't know that he'd go)
Fun (He longed for fun and adventure again)
He has left home
Now it's Frodo who's got to destroy the Ring
He's leaving home (Bye, bye)
