Hey guys! I, Dreamcatcher-Megan, am back with a new Mr. Peabody and Sherman story! I saw the movie on opening day with Grace, and it was a blast! The movie was definitely worth the wait, but...

The one thing that really irked me was the fact that Sherman didn't call Mr. Peabody dad! I would have screamed in frustration if Grace hadn't given me 'the look'.

But hey! That's where fanfiction comes in handy! :) So relax, enjoy some popcorn, and read how the movie should've ended. The story is short, but I'm very proud of it.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is owned by Dreamworks Animation and some guy named Jay Ward. Dreamcatcher-Megan is only using them for entertaining purposes.

"And remember Mr. Peabody, I have classes after school today." Sherman exclaimed as he hopped out of the sidecar and turned to run into school.

Mr. Peabody thought for a moment. There had been a nagging feeling swirling in his stomach the whole ride to school. He felt like he had to say something, right now, and he knew exactly what it was.

"Wait, Sherman."

"Yes, Mr. Peabody?" He turned on his foot to face said speaker. Mr. Peabody silently took a deep breath, willing and nearly forcing himself to say the next words. He was doing it. After seven years, he was finally going to say it; and mean it.

"I... I love you, Sherman."

Sherman's shocked and surprised face was immediately replaced with a smile. He rushed forward, straight into his father's outstretched arms. He hugged Mr. Peabody tightly, and the other did the same. As well as wagging his tail happily.

It was Sherman's turn to speak. He spoke quickly, not realizing what he had said until a full second later. "I love you too, dad."

Mr. Peabody tensed up. His wagging tail immediately drooped. Had… had he heard him correctly? Did he just call him-?

"Dad?" Mr. Peabody pulled away from the hug to look into Sherman's eyes. The air around them seemed silent and still, save for the chattering of kids as they entered the school.

Sherman suddenly realized what he had just said. His eyes widened in fear and worry. He yelped, "I- I mean, Mr. Peabody! I'm so sorry, Mr. Peabody, I just-" He trailed off when he saw Mr. Peabody smile. Sherman could feel his heart slightly leap with joy at the smile. He too returned it as he hugged his father once again.

Behind them, Penny came walking by. "Hey Mr. Peabody!" She called. "Hey Sherman!" At the call of his name, Sherman let go of the hug and ran to catch up with Penny.

"Wait up!" He called, and then he turned and said, "Bye dad!"

"Goodbye, Sherman!" Mr. Peabody waved.
