"I don't know, I really don't like heights all that much." Tori chews on her lip softly while Jade tugs her towards the ferris wheel.

"I know babe, but I have a great idea to change that." She smiles. Tori sighs and relents as Jade pulls her to the guy behind the ticket booth. She hands over two tickets and they step into a red swinging bench. Tori inhales as she slides onto the seat but her breath hitches when Jade locks the silver safety bar down over her lap.

"I don't know about this." Tori's voice trembles. Jade intertwines their hands and pulls Tori's hand to her lips. She kisses Tori's fingers and gives her a grin.

"I'm right here with you." She reminds and the ride creaks into motion. Tori moves closer to Jade and tries to control her breathing as the ride starts to take her high into the air.

When they reach the peak the ferris wheel halts and they are frozen in time as the world moves below them. Tori loosens up slightly and peaks over the edge.

"Everything is so small." She exclaims. "It's so pretty." She looks out of the carnival as the sun sets in the sky leaving a vibrant pinky-orange to bleed into the growing night. The lights of the rides start to illuminate the dimming area. Tori's laughter bubbles from between her lips as the lightbulbs on the ferris wheel pop into existence when they turn on.

"You're so pretty." Jade comments. Tori turns back to find her girlfriend staring at her.

"I've seen this done in a movie once." She continues and digs through her pocket. In her hand is a small velvet box and Tori's eyes widen.

"I've known you for a long time, and even though we didn't start out perfectly I think we have made it farther than most. I love you Tori, and just like you had to have courage and feel safe with me to get on this ferris wheel, I had to find a whole lot of courage to do this." She smiles and her eyes twinkle in the lights.

"Will you marry me?" She asks. Tori grins and nods her head furiously.

"Yes!" She laughs and lunges forward. The bench rocks slightly as their lips lock together.

"Yes!" She pulls away and she is smiling so wide that her cheeks actually hurt. Jade slips the ring onto her finger and suddenly Tori notices that they have descended to the bottom of the ride.

"Can we go around again?" Tori pouts when the man opens the door.

"Sure." He nods and the thin metal door swings shut with a click and Tori holds onto Jade's hand again as they are lifted into the starry sky.
