Based on a conversation I had with my mom involving the following few sentences: 'What if Jack looked into the heart of the TARDIS? He couldn't die, and he'd have the power of a god!' 'That would be scary. I mean, if the Doctor got extremely power-hungry like he did at the end of 'The Waters of Mars' then we'd know that it's at least possible for him to die. But Jack? He can't.'
The Doctor stared in horror and shock as one of his friends—a strange friend, and one he fought with more often then not, but a good friend none the less—stared into the golden glow of the TARDIS, holding his hands out to his sides, palms facing forwards, as if to welcome the power that came so freely forwards.
Time...
Power...
Infinite wisdom...
TIME!
Jack collapsed to the floor, and the Doctor was scared to move forwards. His friend, his friend which hurt to look at, nearly made him pass out from the pain now. Then he stood up and looked at the Doctor, and his eyes were molten gold.
"Doctor..." Jack said, with his voice tripled and echoing eerily in the now-silent TARDIS.
...Almost like she was scared.
"Doctor...." he repeated again.
"Jack?" he asked quietly. "Are you still there?" He laughed, but there was no humor in it.
"Who is Jack? Jack Sprat? Jack and the Beanstalk? Jackson, Michael? Be more specific, Doctor."
"You know who I mean." Oh, Jack, come on, fight it, fight this, I know you can.
"Oh, attitude, attitude, Doctor. No, I am not 'Jack' Doctor. I am more. All those times that you refused to kill, refused even when it would have saved lives, all those times you could have saved lives and didn't... All the people I might have been able to save, but couldn't because you weren't there. I can call them all back!" With a wave of his hand, the ghosts of people long dead appeared behind him, faces twisted in anguish. "I have the power of a god, Doctor, a god! I can save as many people as I want! Destroy the Daleks! Wipe out the Slitheen! Bring back my family, bring back the ones I lost!" He laughed again, a crazed laugh that echoed strangely around the walls, causing it to sound like several Jacks were laughing at once. "Wipe you from existence! Why should you live, look at what you've done to the Universe!" The Doctor was scared now.
"No, don't do this, Jack, it isn't you!"
"I am not Jack!" His voice sounded angry, now, and instead of his eyes being the pure gold they were before, now they were filled with fire, and he was surrounded by it. "I am Victory! Justice! I am the Vortex Consciousness! I am immortal! The Universe is mine to shape, mine to do with as I please! The Time Lords, in full glory. The ones that I have lost, with me again! We can both benefit from this, Doctor."
"No, Jack. You need to learn to move on! If I knew there weren't going to be consequences, then I would take the Time Lords back in a beat of my hearts, but there would be repercussions no matter what you do! Don't do this, Jack! Please! Jack, listen to me! Jack!"
And in the next instant, the Universe began to collapse.
