Here is the second part to go with 'Far Away'. It may help to have read that, but you probably don't have to have done to get this.
"My brothers always say I make it seem so easy, like I don't even try."
It was only to be expected really. Of course Alan was going to be talented when it came to rescues considering that he had his four elders to learn from, considering that he was a Tracy.
"It's not the gear that rescues people, it's the Tracy." Grandma couldn't be any more right.
Alan was a Tracy. Not just any Tracy either, but the only one who ventured out to the deepest and darkest corners of space to save a man and his plant, to save anyone or anything.
Alan may be a kid, the baby of the family, but things came easy to him, more so than they had to the elders.
"I think I started to believe them." He found fault in that. They found fault in that. Alan thought he'd overreached, they thought they'd attempted to make him.
But they were the only ones that saw success in it. Alan's belief in himself wasn't misplaced. Their belief in Alan wasn't misplaced – that it could never be.
The youngest made it look easy and that was that.
"Alan was a Tracy, he saved us all."
That was his job. Alan had always taken International Rescue seriously, so seriously that he cared little for his school work in comparison. But his dedication couldn't be greater. His heart was in the right place and that was what mattered.
"He makes it look easy doesn't he?"
Yes, he did. Because he was a Tracy, because he was Alan Tracy and it was in his blood.
I hope you liked it. The third part should be up by the weekend.
