A Guilty Gear ficlet.
---
Despite the pain, Sol keeps on going. He forces himself to walk, seeing many drops of blood (Ky's? His own?) rolling down his arms and staining his clothes.
The physical pain burns his skin, flesh, and bones. But he knows he cannot stop.
There's someone who still has a chance to live. Yes, the wounded man whose life depends on him and only him. The leader of his group, whom he at times mocked in his very own face, and whose orders he never took so well.
But the sixteen-year-old blond youth, dressed in white and blue, would forget any misgivings or disagreements in the decisive moments, and would fight side to side with Sol no matter what. That's why his inexperience amost got him killed into defending him from the enemy, and now...
Now he tries to ignore the pain of his own wounds, or the blood loss that would kill anybody but him - the Gear who pretends to be a human. He refuses to fully aknowledge anything not related to Ky Kiske, the one who saved him, and whom he's determined to save as well...
This boy - no, man, he's the reason why he struggles to walk and carry on. Sol doesn't want to owe him his life this simply, when he almost threw away his own for him.
And with blood dampening his clothes, hair, and sword, he continued his way, arms wrapped around Ky's injured body as he struggled to walk. The pain is what keeps Sol conscient of what's around him, forcing him to keep himself awake and lucid...
Pain is what keeps them both alive.
Sol is very used to it, after all, since the days when he lost his humanity, so long ago.
And now, the pain he feels in his whole body reminds him that he's carrying Ky around, struggling to find someone in the battlefield that will be able to help the boy, save him, disminish his own pain...
"Sol! What happened to Lord Ky?!".
Ah, that voice. Sol didn't remember the name of the guy who's calling you, but from what the blood on his face allowed him to see, he's a high ranked officer in the Holy Order, one of Ky's most trusted men...
The man runs to them... Maybe...
"He's injured", Sol almost barks at the guy. "Go find someone who can heal him".
"But you are...".
"Go!".
Now the pain is fading... Or is it your conscience, Sol Badguy?
Sol barely heard the voices around him. Several other Holy Order officers come after the first one, and while some tend to Ky, others come to help Sol...
"I'm okay", he harshly tells them. "Help the boy, he needs your help much more than me".
And they obey him. They go to Ky and take him to the closest infirmary, and meanwhile he calmly sits on the blood-covered battleground, finally aknowledging his own fatigue...
Bless and curse the pain he didn't surrender to. For all of this allowed Sol to pay the small little debt he adquired with Ky in the latest battle of the Holy Order.
