Another Jack and the Pack rewrite, this time it's "Percy's Scary Tale" Enjoy and comment.

It was a very foggy Halloween night on the Island of Sodor, and Sir Topham Hatt had sent Percy to work with Alfie.

Percy was glad he would have some company on Halloween night.

Alfie was working his night job, mending the road through Maithwaite Forest.

Percy arrived just as the workmen were about to take their night-break.

Kelly was going to tell a Halloween story.

"I hope it's not spooky!" said Percy.

"Me too!" said Alfie. He didn't like being scared either.

"Rubbish!" snorted Max.

"It's only a story." sneered Monty.

"SHH!" shouted Jack. "Kelly is about to begin."

And everyone began to listen, as Kelly began the story of the one-eyed truck.

"Once upon a time, there was an old steam-truck called the one-eyed truck.

He was crosser than ever, because someone had taken one of his headlamps.

The one-eyed truck chased the loader into the deepest, darkest part of the forest.

Luckily, the loader got away unharmed, but legend says the one-eyed truck still wanders the forest, blowing his whistle, and looking for a headlamp.

Maybe, he wants yours."

"That was the best story I've ever heard!" said Jack.

"I hope I never see the one-eyed truck." shivered Alfie.

"Me too!" exclaimed Percy.

"Nonsense!" rattled Monty.

Just then, the workmen arrived back from their break.

"Back to work everyone!" they called.

And everyone did.

Percy enjoyed working with Alfie.

Alfie is small and green, just like Percy.

They were having a wonderful time working together.

But Max and Monty were up to no good again.

"It's the one-eyed truck!" boomed Max.

"Scaredy scaredy!" teased Monty.

"Stop it!" snapped Jack. "Tease someone your own size!"

Max and Monty laughed and laughed.

Later, Max and Monty had settled down, when the foreman came over to see them.

"Please take these loads to the dump in the forest." he said. "But be careful, it's very dark."

"Yes sir!" said Max and Monty as they drove away.

As they drove deeper into the forest, it became dark and hard to see.

The woods were full of spooky shapes and shadows.

Suddenly, Max and Monty became scared.

Then, they heard a strange sound.

"What was that?" asked Max.

The sound was only a owl hooting.

"It's only the wise old owl." said Monty.

They drove on, until they heard another strange sound.

"What's that?" asked Max.

The sound was only a fox, but Max and Monty didn't know that.

Soon, they arrived at the dump of the forest, when suddenly, they heard a shrill whistle, followed by the sight of a single headlamp through the trees.

"It's the one-eyed truck!" shouted Monty.

They dumped their loads, and drove away as fast as they could.

"The one-eyed truck is coming!" called Monty to the others.

"There's no such thing as a one-eyed truck." said Kelly,

"It's just a story!" said Alfie.

"Then what is behind us then?" wondered Monty.

Just then, Thomas puffed in.

"It's just Thomas!" said the foreman.

"Hello everyone!" said Thomas. "Sir Topham Hatt has sent me here with some more freight cars!"

Max and Monty felt very silly, and fell a deep shade of red.

Everyone else laughed and laughed, and Percy and Alfie laughed loudest of all.
