Hello friends! HPC here (obvs) this story was inspired by "Heroes" by Dobby'sLittleHelper, please enjoy!
Disclaimer: Oh you think I own Harry Potter? You are sadly mistaken I do not no matter how much I ask. All belongs to J.K Rowling!
Dennis Creevy's POV
When I went to the Battle of Hogwarts, I didn't expect not to see death.* This year I had to get quickly accustomed to it. I had always had Colin with me when we listened to "Potterwatch" or when we read the Quibbler for news of death. I never thought one of us would ever be on one of those things reported dead or missing. When I saw a blast of green light coming right at me, I thought it was the end, but no, it wasn't the end of me.
Flashback
I was fighting with all my might, trying to kill as many Deatheaters as possible. Then after I had just killed one when I turned around and saw one utter the most said words that night, "Avada Kedavra", I braced myself for death in those short seconds. Then all of a sudden, a body jumps in front of me. When I see who it is I scream. Colin is breathless, pale and dead,.
"NO COLIN!" I screamed as I saw the so called "body's face"
I looked up and growled at the deatheater who killed him, who was laughing. I lashed out with all the spells I knew, mostly "Crucio" and killed him. Anything to avenge my brother.
End flashback
Ginny and others tried to convince me it wasn't my fault but I knew it was. If I had just stayed home, Colin could be alive.
When I told this to Ginny, she didn't see my logic.
"It's not your fault, it was his decision to jump in front of the curse, you didn't want him to die," comforted Ginny.
"But if I hadn't come here he could've been ALIVE," I sobbed on her shoulder.
"Look at it this way, do you think Colin would have wanted to think it was your fault?" she reasoned.
"No…."
"It's going to get better, I promise."
Somehow it did.
*I know that Dennis was not here, but let's pretend he was :)
