Okay, so this is a oneshot that I came up with at the top of my head. I was really bored and I just took a pen and paper and then this is what it came up. It's pretty short but hey, it's short and sweet. :) Please read and review. Constructive criticism is welcome. Hope you enjoy it.

Disclaimer: I do not own High School Musical but I do own this plot and the lyrics at the end of this story.

"Do you Gabriella Montez, take Troy Bolton to be your husband..."

She's my best friend but I love him more than she can imagine. I know it is too late to tell him I love him now. I have waited much too long. All I can do is stand on the side, and smile while holding Gabriella's bouqet of flowers. After all, I am the maid of honor.

"I do."

The words come out so easily. She knows this is something she wants. It's something I want, as well. I know that Zeke is my future husband since we are engaged, but I feel as if he's just the rebound. Sure, people may call me the Ice Queen, but it doesn't mean that I want to hurt him on purpose. It wouldn't be fair to him for me to say that I am Sharpay Baylor. Besides, it doesn't feel right.

"And do you, Troy Bolton, take Gabriella Montez to be your wife..."

The church awaits his answer, as do I. He can either agree and become a loving husband or he can disagree and hopefully fall in love with me. My decision, as of now is that if he says 'I do', I will back off. I will stay out of their lives knowing this is what was meant to be; knowing that this is what they want. If he says that he can't, I'll know that I still have a chance.

"I do." Troy says and smiles at Gabriella.

I smile as well and turn around giving the bouqet of flowers to Taylor. If this is his choice, I don't belong here. I walk out of the church through the side door, being careful not to disturb the service. Before I walk I turn around to see them one last time.

"You may now kiss the bride."

I turn around before I get to see them kiss. When I know they are done, I turn around again and see Troy's confused gaze upon me. I smile and mouth to him,

"I love you."

I smile once again before getting into my car and driving off somewhere I know they won't find me. It is their day and not mine. I do not want to risk the temptation of crashing their wedding. The solution is to drive until gas runs out. What I do not know is that Troy, Gabriella, and the rest of the audience are out front watching my pink convertible drive off.

"Where is she going, Troy?" Gabriella asks, tears in her eyes just threatening to fall. " I thought that she was happy for us."

Troy puts an arm around her waist beginning to understand why I have to leave all of a sudden.

"She is happy for us, Gabi. Don't you worry." Troy starts. "I'm happy too."

Gabriella looks up at Troy and gives him a peck on the lips.

"I love you, Gabs." Troy says.

"I love you too." Gabriella responds.

"I love you so much, Troy." I whisper as I slightly push on the brakes as I arrive at a stop sign.

I love you more than you think,

Baby

I wanna hold you tight,

Tonight.

And I know it won't work out

But at least there's a part of me

That'll let go.

'Cause I love you too much

To have these hard feelings

Inside.

But I'll always dream

I'll always imagine

What life could be.

But I know you're happy now

And that's enough for me.
