They all laughed at me wanting you
They all said we'd never get together
Said you were too cold and locked up in your own world. That you'd turn me down if I ever told you how I truly felt.
Yet as I lay with you in bed. Stroking your soft silver hair, and feeling your comfort in my warm embrace.
I can't help but wonder. Who's got the last laugh now?
I remember Yang telling me to go be honest and it'd all work out. She was lying of course, she had even started making cookies as soon as I left so she could comfort me. But I still ran out the door with confidence.
We met in the courtyard where I ran into you on my first day in Beacon. You looked so beautiful in the moonlight as you stood there wondering why I called you there. Suddenly all my confidence vanished and I found myself struggling to even remember how to put one foot in front of the other. I felt so much fear I probably would've ran away if you hadn't seen me and given me a stern questioning glare.
I stepped forward slowly until we were mere inches from each other. You looked up with a curious look, probably wondering what in world had gotten into me.
We stood there for what seemed like hours as you stared me down waiting for me to say something, but I just couldn't bring myself to.
"Ruby, is there a reason you brought me out here in the freezing darkness just to stare at me?" You say with an annoyed and venomous tone.
I still couldn't build up the courage to say anything. I tried and tried again but all that came out were broken up hums and mumbles.
You stared at me getting very annoyed. Then the next thing I know you're backing away and preparing to storm back to our room.
My mind began racing and suddenly words became trivial as I rushed forward and grabbed your arms. Before you can even react we're kissing and I have you in my embrace. I savor the kiss knowing there's no way you were going to let this slide.
Yet rather than pulling away you wrapped your arms around me and pulled deeper into the kiss. It felt like the world had suddenly light up in a brilliant display of fireworks and confetti but I was too enchanted to notice.
Now with you in my arms I feel just like I did in that moment. So I lay down and close my eyes. Drifting off to sleep and to dreams. Dreams of you.
My beautiful snow white princess.
