They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul.
You've always liked to believe this. You would always fall in love with the man with the expressive eyes. Your husband Chris, Joe, and now…
Along the way you also learned that your eyes could give you away in a second.
But he thrives on eye contact; on staring you down, trying to read you like you are a book or something. (His book)
And so your eyes continue to give you away. He knew the truth when you screamed that you hated him. Just like he knew you didn't only kiss him for the blood sample.
You know your eyes are traitorous, capable of exposing your feelings in a heartbeat, but you also know that not everyone can read them.
He can.
It's a shaky connection most of the time, but it's there. And it scares you:
They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul.
He has access to your soul. (And your heart.

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul.
You've always thought this was a bunch of crap. Until you met Allison Cameron.
Her every ideal, every inner thought was on display for all to see in those blue-green depths.
You wonder sometimes if your eyes are that expressive, but you've worked so hard all your life to school your emotions so that they are barely detectable in your mannerisms and voice, if need be.
So you had always assumed your eyes were the same.
Except that you had the distinct impression that she knew exactly what was running through your mind as you asked her to Gravedigger and told (begged) her to come back to work at PPTH.
But your eyes mustn't be completely fallible; otherwise she would know how much you'd like to fuck her against your office wall.
They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul.
Maybe they are right.

Your eyes change colour depending on what you're feeling. His eyes do too.
Usually, your eyes are an odd combination of blue and green, and they turn greener when you are happy, and bluer when you are upset. That's all you really know for sure, since you don't exactly make a habit of looking at yourself in the mirror every time you're seething with anger or surprised.
His eyes go impossibly blue when he's arguing for his diagnosis or contemplating something. They go a tumultuous, stormy blue when he's angry. And you now know that they go as dark as the night sky when he's aroused.
You are annoyed with yourself for even noticing such things about him so scrupulously.
Your eyes change colour depending on what you're feeling.
They must be blue now.

Your eyes change colour depending on what you're feeling.Your father's did as well.
You remember how the iciness of his grey eyes used to frighten you. Icy always meant he was displeased with you for whatever reason.
How they would rarely ever thaw, except for the day when you were valedictorian.
But they froze over again, when he found out from your mother that you were going to do medicine. You never understood why.
Her eyes change colour, you saw it on the non-date, on the 'real' date and when she had the HIV scare. You saw it when she kissed you but you don't like to dwell on that (too much).
Your eyes change colour depending on what you're feeling.
You have no idea what colour they'd be now.
NB: I am eternally sorry for neglecting this place, but life's been hectic, and there'll be a fic!spam tonight to make up for it. :)
