I do not own the hilarious show Austin and Ally. I can only borrow the characters. I saw Trez needed some love, so I wrote a little story! Enjoy!
" You're stupid"
"You're weird"
"You're mean"
" You're harsh"
"I extremely dislike you"
The exchange went back and fourth every day, sometimes elaborating on different topics, such as clothing, and hobbies. The teasing could get very heated, but neither of them took offense. It was mechanical, a routine, done without any emotional attachment.
By unspoken agreement, they left the word 'hate' alone, because hate was always coupled with passion, and to say that they hated each other was to say they had a passion for each other.
Sometimes Austin or Ally will comment on how their teasing sounded like how a married couple would fight, and they would both rush to vehemently defend themselves. Then they would avoid each other's company for a few days, trying to lie low. They do this for one simple reason.
Denial, both of them were in denial and all of their mean words were hollow. They both knew that the other didn't hate them, but would never admit it.
It wasn't that they couldn't be nice to each other, or couldn't get past the bad first encounter they had, it certainly wasn't that. It was fear that held them back, fear of what would happen if they let their guard down.
Deep down, they knew what would happen if they left their guard down for too long. Deeper friendship would take root, and eventually, romantic feelings would bloom. Uncertainty of what would happen after that is what petrified them into holding back.
So every day, they go through the same emotionless routine, waiting for the other to make the first move, but made no progress.
There are a few moments, however, when no one is around, that they don't feel the need to say those hollow words and for a moment, be themselves.
I don't know how much I like this story. For some reason, I just don't like it as much as my other stories... I told this one exactly how I see the Trez relationship in the show. It's not as fluffy as my other stories... Maybe that's why I don't like it as much. Anyways, please review!
