Dat title, doe!

Just been in one of those moods, ya know the feeling, getting back into writing, I should update my other story pretty soon, one of these days, I'm gonna finish it, I'll tell ya that, just ya know...

Randomness ahead - I feel sick, like I wanna puke, maybe I won't eat much tomorrow, I'll plan ahead or something... spinach and banana in the morning, workout with friend, apple and carrots for lunch, maybe some dates, lentil soup for dinner. Keep that up for a week and I'll feel and look good.

Contrary to popular belief, Dia really didn't hate visitors. She wouldn't be annoyed if they came, yet she wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't. What she really wanted to do was just stay in her room. It was comfy in there, to the dim light that shone through the single window, down to the fake flowers that sat by her white bed.

Dia really wasn't surprised when the farmer came one lazy summer afternoon. They had spoken before. Generally polite commodities were given on the rare occasion of Dia being outside. She knew her name was Tina, a cute name, for a cute girl she guessed. Tina was a few years younger than herself, on the latter of her final teenage year. A hard worker for her age, independent and mature, she had a thing for the local carpenter, Kurt, a gloomy young man, whose only source of happiness, it seems, was Dia.

The farmer gave her a small hello before getting straight to the point. Dia wanted to tell Tina to rest more often, she looked tired and malnourished. Then again, who was she to say anything. Dia supposed Tina could pull off her half hazard look anyway, it added to her quirky charm. It added to her red bandana, to her pigtails, to her rosy red chapped lips and her sunburn to match. It was common knowledge throughout the town that Kurt's cheerful older brother, Joe, was, and had, always been smitten with her. It was common knowledge to everyone except Tina. Dia never pegged her as the dense type. Dia realized she had been zoning off during Tina's purposeful ramblings. Maybe she should get more sleep, which always seemed to do her well.

Tina clucked at the sick girl, making Dia feel shameful and guilty.

"If you love him, be with him. If you don't, let him go. You're being a burden on the people around you. Very selfish."

"…I am being a burden aren't I? My parents told me that too. Well, they didn't tell me, but I could see it in their eyes…" Dia gazed out the window, her face a pretty portrait of sadness. "But, I do like Kurt, and he likes me. Will it last though? That is the question I want answered. I want so dearly not to be hurt, Tina."

The farmer cocked her head at Dia. "Well, I could sit here and tell you, 'You'll never know if you don't try', but that really doesn't seem fitting for the occasion. Still, I'll accept the fact that you like him."

With her piece said, Tina stood from the bed and exited toward the door.

"Oh, and Dia?"

The sullen girl faced away from the glass window, just for a moment.

"Let's make this a fair fight, alright? Only play the game if you have the intent of winning. Here, catch!"

Startled, Dia halfheartedly snagged the bottle lightly tossed at her. Green eyes scanned the contents in the clear jar.

"Medicine?"

Tina gave Dia a sweet, silly smile, proving that under years and years of maturity, there still was a teenaged girl. "Stay healthy Dia."

"You made this yourself, didn't you?"

Dia looked up. The farmer was gone.

"Thank you, Tina."
